Cyberpunk 2077

CONTAINS SPOILERS

Lol, Phil, almost, compared it to Deus Ex :whistling: The RPG mechanics.

Anyway, Phil and Tom got to play 16 hours, and in this stream they are giving their views.

Alanah Pearce is also modelled in the game, but that she announced some time back already.

The one dev had a 175hrs playthrough, or so the guy who made the video said. My most recent playthrough was AC: Origins which took me around 70hrs to do like 99.95% completion, the story (incl. DLC) probably at the most interactive pace took around 25-30hrs. I am curious how a playthrough could take 175hrs because it could indicate a possible grind... maybe is a very big game, but didn't they say a while ago that is shorter than The Witcher 3?
I believe they said the main questline will be shorter that The Witcher 3's main questline.

Side content not included.

Yes they said that because many people played but did not finish Witcher 3 (raises hand) Cyberpunk would be shorter but have deeper RPG mechanics.

Looking at the Witcher 3,

The website isn't accurate, but it is indicative, completionist at 175hrs which would put it in line with what the dev reported on his/her playtime with CP2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 may have more or less the same playtime as The Witcher 3. It is a reasonable amount. Most people will likely only play the main quest line with a side stroll or two. Then there is the multi-player component which will roll out in 2022 which is believed to be open-world like GTA Online or so it is speculated which would make sense should they monetise the game.

Steam achievements are very indicative of how many people are spending time to complete side activities and show that not too many people are interested in add-on activity.

I only read later that all GOG orders will include the comic book, including the physical copies. I don't know why their marketing is suddenly driving pre-order sales on Steam, the short story was announced 6 days ago as an exclusive.

Just last night I saw that Dr Disrepect will indeed be in the game and apparently not in a minor way which is interesting because there were legal concerns with his likeness, amongst other things, in terms with his streaming contracts. I wouldn't be surprised that this may have been a reason which caused a launch postponement.

It is like CDPR made Cyberpunk 2077 as a Twitch/YouTube rewind, and I have also seen various game 'reviewers' publicly announcing being in the game.
I wonder if they'll include Doc's 2 wives too

The dev clarified that it was done on hardest difficulty with a stealth build so everything takes long and they use all abilities and tools the game offers to test as much as possible.

Yeah, I looked it up, and apparently he is still busy playing.

Unless it is sponsored content. Just because the game have no DRM it cannot be time locked, but it is released at the same time globally. Max-tac is also a in-game group, hence I think this is more asking nicely than being assholes. People are going to Stream it the moment it lands in their hands, some early birds can make many dollars in short time.

I think the biggest culprits here are surely going to be console gamers? With the current gameplay leaks out so far none have originated from PC versions as far as I can tell.

You hear that PC master race! For once we aren't the problem! :D

The problem is that many who stream on Twitch, Trovo, and wherever else, have an opportunity to capitalise quickly, especially the partners. It like getting in early on a new and hyped up cryptocurrency, whoever is late, irrelevant or small will be losing out on an opportunity which may only come around once. Likewise, with YouTube videos, very popular at the mark and then it is saturated.

Established and or popular streamers and or creators always win because they have an algorithm on their side. It is the new to market peeps who have to bent over. YouTube is also a bitch; they will quickly push up a celebrity who is new to their ecosystem up to the top creating a win-win situation where the newcomer doesn’t get to have any lube because they don't care about irrelevance.

CDPR is marketing to be the good guy here, I am sure they won’t mind early exposure within the title’s launch cycle, but they also want it to be accessible so that they are perceived as the people’s choice. Simple really.

Agreed with you on all points and generally I try to ignore a vast majority of media related to something I'm excited about because of the very reasons you've stated. Really, which one of us wants to have spoilers shown up before we've had the chance to experience the game ourselves?

I do also feel that stating DRM free really only ever applies to PC these days, Microsoft and Sony would never condone this which is why they invest so heavily in hardware security.

DRM have a purpose, but that purpose shouldn’t be at the expense of the consumer.
