Cyberpunk 2077

I tell you folks, the more a game like this has massive and non-stop hype, the more likely it is going to be a huge and utter disaster.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not pre-ordering it :)

Yes, the hype sets the bar. You will have people going into this with high expectations only ending up being disappointed, it will happen.

Just one thing about this title's development. CDPR have done a lot to warm up with the gaming media. Many popular Youtubers, streamers and reviewers are in this game in one capacity or the other, that is contractual and there will be bias in scoring this game, and who on Earth wants to let Keanu Reeves down?

I am saying this now, there will be someone going into this game with high expectations only to end up comparing it to Deus Ex, and I have already heard a remark or two in this regard, none which was negative, but is clear that Cyberpunk 2077 was inspired by previous cyberpunk themed titles and won't be creating anything new in the cyberpunk verse other than building a game on an existing IP (and lore) which is years old already.

True. Just because it s the same developers as The witcher does not make it instant magic.

I experienced something similar recently - pre-ordered Godfall because Gearbox was in charge. The folks responsible for Borderlands (my precious!).

That turned out to be a disappointment. Fortunately I returned the game without even playing it.
 
They're really cashing in on the hype here even advertising on WWE. I'm sure that's why it was delayed. Not that it wasn't ready to be released but to hype it up for more and use additional channels.

That to me is a problem. It commercialises it which often comes at the expense of gameplay.

TW3 also had lots of hype and won lots of awards at the end of the day, that said many people don't like the game.

My thoughts exactly, better to expect a piece of turd than expect a master piece and hopefully be pleasantly surprised. Excessive hype always leads to let downs... give me one example where this wasnt the case.
 

IMPORTANT: The original author of the comment said "the framerate is uncapped but it frequently dips below 60".​

(Currently 6 hours into the game on xbox series x and I just now got the title screen....this is a BIG game) Population density is wayyyy higher than I was expecting, runs at 60fps with some frame drops, the game is very buggy like repeated crashes, dialogue just not being played sometimes, I've had the controller become completely unresponsive for several seconds a dozen times or so, some serious ghosting on objects when moving quickly, animations just not working properly, screen flickering a lot, vehicles and npcs spawning and despawing out of thin air. And TONS of repeating npcs. Like 3 identical npcs standing directly next to each other. The game REALLY needs a patch. This version is nowhere near close to ready. I'm just hoping that that patch is magic because damn. Severe jank. But when everything works right....Dude this game is amazing. It lives up to the hype. It really does.

Well if you're serious Russia is generally one of the cheapest places.
 
Russia is $25.06 currently so just under R400 yeah.
 
I am surprised that GOG is still selling to other regions, the Russian/CIS pricing workaround have been used since GOG introduced regional pricing, and it is openly discussed on their own Reddit and on their own website. It is also discussed on Steam. They know, but clearly don't care, and some are in the opinion that it due to CDPR being anti-DRM and allegedly 'pro'-piracy. They should localise all pricing to the Russian/CIS region.

Steam, Origin, Ubi, Epic, etc. have all patched this workaround. Steam will even suspend your account, pending, but the Steam Marketplace is essentially a gambling room. Naming Epic, it was priced on Epic $29.99 not too long ago, but the price has since changed and SA is a pricing region now.
