Cyberpunk 2077

ok... based on what I am reading here, I think that I should give this game a pass and buy Red Dead Redemption 2 instead.
Depends on your personal preferences.

RDR2 is significantly more stable/polished, but personally I struggled to stick with it as it felt like a chore to do anything. I felt that playability took a knock in favour of realism in many cases, but again that is my take.

As buggy as Cyberpunk is, I've already put in 30odd hours, compared to the 20 or so I managed with RDR2 over the course of several weeks.

Possibly you're walking really slowly because your inventory is full and you're over-burdened. Sell or dismantle some stuff and see if it changes. You can see your weight in the inventory at the top right, will look like 150/200 or similar. 210/200 if you're over-burdened.
Didn't know this was a thing, thanks. Shows how much I pay attention (in my defense there is an overwhelming amount of information thrown at you).

I've just been hobbling along, using the dash move to boost myself like some anime character.

When dismantling, my recommendation is to only dismantle and never sell rare or epic items as you can use the crafting components for upgrading or crafting new items. For common items, either sell or dismantle depending what you need.

Nah, smooth as can be on my 1080ti. Are you running off of a HDD or SSD? How much RAM do you have? Running the latest Nvidia driver that was optimized for the game?
Running on a SSD and 16gb 2600mhz ram. And yeah installed latest drivers. It literally when I drive around and I take turn into a street it dips to like 30 frames and hops back to 60.

I am loving my time with Cyberpunk and will probably do more than one playthrough,
but,
If I was forced to choose between the two, Red Dead Redemption 2 wins for me.

Few things you can try.
If you have two RAM modules, make absolutely sure your RAM is installed on dual channel, not single. Sounds silly, but I once never bothered opening my old PC's case. Assassin's Creed Origins ran like crap and I could never figure out why. 30 - 40 fps with regular dips into 20. Was unplayable even though my specs were above recommended.

Turned out whoever built the PC at the store inserted the RAM in single channel. Changing it to dual channel was like night and day.

Also make sure your physics is set to run off the GPU as it is set to CPU by default.

Haven't had any problems with any game after making these two changes.

Thanks will check when I'm home.

And how do I make sure about the physics part? Is it in the Nvidia control panel?

Nvidia control panel yes.
Since you've never checked before, physics is 100% set to CPU currently.

I had a prebuilt PC from PC Game and Computer world and they did the same thing. Worse, they had those warranty stickers on the case so I couldn’t change it myself.

I think CDPR should scratch the idea surrounding multi player. Why?

Last night I went through the mods already made, and noticed how easily it is to hook into the code. Though many people may be pleased by this to have custom mods in the game, which I support, it also enables cheating which will also please many people. People are more than welcome to cheat in their single player experience and I welcome people enhancing their own experiences, but the same does not apply when you are in a shared experience.

My problem, however, is that it will end up like Fallout 76, only with a much larger player base. F76 is a schitshow because online is exploited and Bethesda can do nothing about it.

People think this launch may be bad. Just wait until they go online with the IP.

All modern games have physics. Something needs to compute it.
I thought that it was a proprietary nVidia thing that had to be officially supported by the game engine. Interesting, I will need to catch up on that, thanks.

I think I will only do one play through, and that it will be enough. Doing the side missions/gigs are tedious. I only have 4 more districts to complete. 3 Districts done, as well as Night City's outskirts and the Badlands. I probably have another 20 hours to complete side quest which is available, and then the main quest. I need to recalculate the time it takes to complete the game... maybe the main quest unlocks more side quests, but I have the game now pegged at 70hrs to 100% completion, and as I said it gets tedious.

I believe it is only the Nomad path which expands the game a little.

The DLC I will play when it comes out, and I hope that the paid DLC may expand the game. 2 big patches coming next year with emphasis on consoles. I think we will see DLC (games expansions) by June/July, maybe a pass, maybe even an expansion cancellation because there was a point where CDPR said that they will introduce DLC on the house... maybe they will stick to smaller DLC (almost like seasonal campaigns to unlock rare items) and cancel game expansions. Do it like 2K does with Borderlands.

If I do another playthrough I will select a female character and a different starting path (street kid currently with a male character) and see if there are any significant differences.

But as you said, the side stuff is massively tedious and after the 20th crime in progress, dare I say, bloody boring.
I haven't had a single meaningful side quest and I am in part 2 of the main story and have put significant hours into it.

All the side stuff so far have been the fixer jobs and two random stuff which boils down to the same thing. Drive this guy there. Go and save this guys brother there.

No side stories or interesting characters like in the Witcher 3.

Hoping it changes as I travel from undiscovered exclamation point to the next, but so far it looks bleak.

Luckily I am still enjoying the setting and the loop otherwise I probably would have dropped it.

Anyone who does not like the cyberpunk setting (or Deus Ex games) should probably not give it a try at full price.

Will likely do one playthrough on PC in it's current form and then another on PS5 when they release a GOTY edition with all DLC included.
