Cyberpunk 2077

Originally played it on PS4 couple years ago but gave up because it was so broken. Have since got a PS5 so hoping to jump back in

I am curious whether Phantom Liberty is already included in this update? I see the game does acknowledge that I have pre-ordered it and the Vigilante is listed as installed under DLC though obviously not accessible at this time.
I hope so, same here.

I started a new game on hard a few weeks back, so I'm not restarting from scratch.
All skills have been reset though.

Seems this is now the new can it run crysis :) lol
Hardly, it was fine on PS5, Series X and most midrange PCs since launch.

It only ran like a pig on actual pigs - Xbox One and PS4. The game needs an SSD more than a ridiculous graphics card...

I would say it's different in many aspects, ray tracing for one, sure it is an entirely new rendering pipeline, and not even cyberpunk is taking full advantage of all rendering techniques. What cyberpunk 2.0 does well now is CPU scaling. In many regards they are quite similar I would say. The problem however is that crysis supports both shader model 3 and 5 were as cyberpunk only supports 5.1 up.

Additionally there has also been significant hardware changes in recent years, more cache, more ram. However xbox one and PS4 wasn't the problem it was that the game ran like dog shyte. Many will argue with you it is the crysis of the 2020's, irrespective of running like shyte at first.

And techinically you could run crysis on a potato, crysis would at least run on the lowest supportive hardware and have a decent frame rate, not so much for cyberpunk.

From my play through, still in the game's opening act I have come across one bug which isn't game breaking per se, but it breaks a Fixer mission.

In the Gig "Concrete Cage Trap", the game doesn't trigger Tiny Mike's backpack as a usable item to take the inhaler. I went back some time and the issue still persists. I haven't experienced this issue in my old play through, nor do I see this issue reported anywhere else. Just saying to make a save prior to interacting with this side quest.

From normal gameplay I haven't experienced any old issues, though I had a T-pose at the very beginning. Apparently there are glitches, in particular to relics, but I haven't reached that part, yet.

A known issue is that some achievements related to the old skill tree are unlockable, due to the changes, but I believe that CDPR will patch this.

Also, people using old saves have run into issues concerning their inventory. One being discussed is that some weapons do 0 damage. I loaded my old save, and though I haven't played with it, it does seem to be compatible.

For those playing the game who don't want to experience issues with relics, well, there is a mod:

My advice would be to wait until CDPR releases a hot patch to iron out these glitches which is likely to release with the DLC drop on the 26th.

The Gig bug that I have experienced is also noted. Then also the weapon damage bug that I have mentioned, lol, it is because some weapon drops roll with 0 damage as an attribute. I am sure this is a high priority to patch.

There is a bug thread on CDPR's site:

CDPR also announced a Twitch drop campaign, but you have to own Phantom Liberty to have it enabled apparently:

I don't know when these drops are supposed to start, but I haven't come across a streamer with these drops enabled. Everyone, including their cats and dogs, are already playing Phantom Liberty. I have no idea why CDPR is delaying the DLC drop then...

Ah, I didn't look, the drops are announced, to quote:

16 streamers have been announced. I'm not going to name them, but they are listed on the drop page.

The sniper drop is pay gated:

YASHA SNIPER RIFLE

Start Time: 25/09/2023, 4p.m. CEST
End Time: 21/10/2023, 11:59p.m. CEST

From 25/09/2023, 1p.m. CEST to 21/10/2023, 11:59 p.m. CEST, you can also show your support for eligible Twitch partners and affiliates playing Cyberpunk 2077 by gifting their channel 2 Twitch subscriptions of any tier. Doing so will earn you the Yasha sniper rifle as a reward.

lol, who pay gate drops, sure these streamers are already incentivized to play the game? They already have access to Phantom Liberty. I am watching Shroud play it now. Yet, reviewers may not show their gameplay...

EDIT: Hmmm, they don't have access to Phantom Liberty. Seems to be Update 2.0 things I haven't yet seen.

It is not necessary to own Phantom Liberty in order to obtain these drops. However, CDPR has stated that the drops are activated when you own Phantom Liberty.

I did not play cp when it launched because of the huge backlash it received for being so bad.

Now I see reviews of cp 2.0 and everyone is saying this is the actual release as this is how it was meant to be. Must say the game looks really good. Might need to play it a bit.

It has a Steamdeck mode in the settings that works great on the Ally I heard.

Can't say it's all that different yet.
Driving is definitely better.

Gunplay so far the same.

The changes they made to loot fecking sucks though. I hate it with a passion. Almost no meds to be found anywhere. Even medical containers will have gause or bandages in it - considered junk and not medical items

half the guns the enemies drop are also now 'broken' and only gives you basic crafting components

That said, body mods are waaaay better. Although the mod limit is as bad as the loot change

clothes are completely useless now. Sell any clothes you pic up and run around naked. It's not like you see your character anyway

Skill tree looks decent, although again, Waaay to many prerequisites required to unlock anything.

It's like they give you all these new toys and then limit how many you can have.

It's good, but a lot of changes are annoying

Do you even play the game?

  • Health Items and grenades now have a limited number of charges that recharge over time after being used.

I have now +/- 24 hours into a new game with patch 2.0, and it is mostly a good experience other than the issues I have mentioned.

Is there a game you haven't complained about?

The game is pretty good. This is my second play through, but I have days with a previous 100% play through. Is the game better, yes. I like it so much that I can't stop playing it. I wouldn't call it a new game or a relaunch, but the QoL improvements are very much welcomed. There are still some Update 2.0 things I haven't experienced.

I can't wait to play Phantom Liberty.

As much as I have critiqued bugs and glitches, I have done my part to report them to CDPR. The game is better now.

9/10.
