Cyberpunk 2077

Yeah. That's why I said this game should never have released when it did.

They should have released it now in its complete state and it would have had a 95 Meta and went down as one of the greatest of this gen. But no, they just had to **** around and find out.

That said in DLC mission 5 now. Just sad that they nerfed Netrunning so much. I had a (modded) 70m range on Contagion in the past. Gigs? Pft. I scoped a building from 100m away and one Contagion cleared out 40 enemies across 3 floors. I just walked in, looted, and walked out. 6k damage per enemy.

Now it does 38 tickles and simply refuses to spread.

And, on top of that, it immediately gives away your position.

My only complaint so far.

I'm about 14h in according to my save and I must say I'm starting to really enjoy it - at what point should I buy the DLC?

I have no idea, but welcome to one of the best games ever (post March 2023 :) ). It only gets better the further you get in to it.

It won't make narrative sense doing that.

Technically you can, around 5-8 hours into the DLC there's a short break during which you have to clear 3 Gigs iot to advance the DLC main quests, so sure, you can shoot off then if you must.

Things move fast in Dogtown and missions are far longer than main story missions.

It's supposed to be an in-between chapter in V's life. Its not supposed to be mixed.

But it won't feel remotely the same.

Personally I'm finishing the the main DLC missions first, then I'll mop up the rest in Dogtown. Keep in mind though, I've seen enough of the main game already.

Hmm think I've already gone there at some point, but anyway just bought it now.
Should probably be able to go back and do it.
Not sure if there is a cut off period in the main story, but doubt it.

Driving and movement is so good now.
Still kinda sucks they never incorporated the wall running, but once you have double jump the FPS parkour can be very satisfying.
FPS driving is also a lot more immersive and responsive

Police finally work normally. They even move in tactical formations as they move around looking for you. Haven't had any police spawn out of nowhere yet.

NPC's are still mostly just wallpaper, but there are a lot of improvements to how they react in certain situations. Some of them even pulled a gun on me and there have been a few dynamic police chases that did not involve me

Apart from the nitpicks I have, they've done a good job. I still need to unlock a lot when it comes to skills and augments and what they've changed, but can thoroughly recommend a purchase even without the DLC

Anyone else get a message on starting up now saying, "hey Choomba, can we use your data analytics to improve game, 100% anonymous, blah, blah, blah"?

I said yes, as I reckon that most companies gather the data anyway, so I appreciated them pretending to ask at least.

After new install when 2.0 dropped, yes

I don't like that some people compare Cyberpunk 2077 to the Deus Ex series, but I won't mind a new Deus Ex game made in the same open world vein. Sadly though, Deus Ex is somewhere in the void now. I only hope that the new owner gives it a good developer. Square Enix did the game good, but eh... they kept the IP in the box. Though Deus Ex is cyberpunk, it is not Cyberpunk RED.

I still own Bloodline II on Steam. The Chinese Room better make it a good game. Taking a look at their demo material it looks a lot like they took Cyberpunk 2077 as inspiration, but then the previous developer also worked along those lines so... yeah.

The next Cyberpunk RED game better be better than awesome. There is a chance that CDPR may continue to work on Cyberpunk 2077, but that will depend on the interest they are currently garnering. I see they want to do more Twitch/Amazon co-ops. Now with their investor meet coming up and the game having strong traction there is a slight, but possible chance that REDengine will have more work to do.

How are you starting it up then?
Console?

Moment the launcher came up it asked me for data collection. On steam you need to install and the launcher only comes up when you can play

There's an earlier post of mine hear where I said it wasn't updating, and why i thought so. And yep - PS5 of course :)

@Fulcrum29 bladerunner mod?

I currently only use the Enhanced Weather mod:

There is an overhaul mod:

I have never previously played the game with mods, but I like this atmosphere.
