Cybersmart crawling

I am trying my best not to be insulting, however you are testing my patience and I am starting to form an opinion that you and your friend Tinuva are either children with nothing better to do, or not the smartest ones on the web and / or trolling.

However, assuming you are not following my posts and that you are indeed slow and not trolling:

I have no allegiance to any ISP and will reflect the facts as it is at that time of posting. (Nothing in this world is stagnant and situations change from time to time and I do my best to reflect that)

Taken from excerpts of another post(s) of mine: (most recent)
"Before the "emotional brand supporters" try to distract from the issue(s) at hand, let me state:

I utilise, Afrihost, Altech, BCS Net, Cybersmart, FNB Connect, iBurst, Telkom and Web Africa on a daily basis (in the past I have also utilised; MWEB, Vodacom, MTN, RSA Web, Gamco, etc. - given up on these, for a host of reasons) supplied either directly by the ISP, or from resellers like Open Web & TRL Tech and a few others I do not wish to mention as these forums disgust them, (with good reason I might add).

Lastly, I am not a "fanboy" of any ISP, however it frustrates me that many on this forum would accept everything that is presented by these ISP's as fact, without taking the time to obtain the true state of affairs and utilising the "herd mentality" and actually agreeing with the one that "shouts the loudest" and can post the highest level of insults, no matter what the actual facts indicate. "

&

"In addition; the majority of South African consumers emotionally buy the brand instead of the product and most seem to purchase a product due to the familiarity of the brand and blindly purchase an ISP account due to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herd_mentality and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keeping...th_the_Joneses.

I come across this on a daily basis (also clearly evident on these forums) with individuals deeply unhappy with their ISP's offering, however as others report it as good they stick it out - which does not lead to more competition, just continued page after page of complaints."

Don't insult me on a public forum, if you have something against me then keep it to yourself please. I asked about the link cause I wanted to know if the situation had changed since then cause that is when I started having problems with Cybersmart.

Michael...

I take offence at your last post.

1. I am not a fanboy, though if you can prove that I am by actually linking posts, that will be fair enough. You will find that I didn't like your parade against WA, you do seem to be a WA hater over and over, that doesn't make me a fanboy, merely a tad bit more objective than you.

2. How can you put me in the same league as Nomnom when I was the one that in this very thread said he took my quotes out of context.

In your last few posts you do seem to try to be more objective, but that doesn't take away all the WA hate posts you have made in the past public on this forum. Please point and show me where I have any fan posts. I do admit I post screenshots and videos from time to time showing stuff works, but I have done so in the past for many networks.

My personal opinion is, if you are lucky to be on a good DSLAM and uncongested part of Telkom's ADSL network, most ISPs will actually prove to have fairly decent networks. They merely have problems at different times, and you my friend, are just impatient to wait for these to get resolved, which IMHO gets resolved much faster than any problem on Telkom's network.

My point is, you usually blame the ISP when it is actually Telkom that is at fault. I posted that previously in another thread, I am doing so again here now.

Just want to follow up on this, its been a full 10 days, and my internet has actually gotten worse over the period. After my cancelation my 1mb line got downgraded to 512k, they sent me a Telkom reference no for the fault. Not getting any feedback, I call Telkom and they tell me the reference no doesn’t exist on their system even.

Is there nothing I can do to get my line removed from these clowns earlier? Waiting till the end of December is just pathetic. I'd rather burn that money than pay for another month of this piss poor service, not to mention worthless internet.

Im paying R500 a month for this

And that's the reason why you NEVER, EVER have your line with an ISP, especially not with Cybersmart.

Good advice, not sure if the savings achieved on the line cost is worthwhile the effort of having the line transferred.

I have had issues with line transferrals with all ISP's, with Web Africa being the worst offender as the transfer took more than 3 months (constant follow-up's with WA, were of no value).

If possible leave your line with Cybersmart as you will save a few Rands and it makes no material difference, unless you are going to an ISP that requires it as a package deal (not advised).

Breathe, I suggest you contact Telkom Wholesale (TW) yourself (not the most user friendly process) to speed up the process, should you still want to transfer your line.

Try calling; : 0800 772 772 Option 2, alternatively 0800 500 200 or 10219 or 10217 or 012-426-8908, note you might be given the run around, be courteous however insistent and explain the issue that you are experiencing clearly.

Once you have spoken with the correct person at TW and they have supplied you with a reference number, email the request again to [email protected] & CC: [email protected] & [email protected] with a brief description of the line transfer request, including the Telkom reference number and the person you spoke with.

Please take note of Cybersmart's terms:
"As per terms and condition we require one calendar months written notice by fax (email or other means are not sufficient). Please send a signed fax with a copy of your identity document and adsl account name to 087 625 0003 or 021 461 0015 or scanand email it to [email protected].

Note: Stopping your debit order or not returning the required documentation or not using your account does not constitute a cancellation."

Good luck

Hi

Maybe I'm the only one here but since I have changed my line from uncapped to a capped unshaped with CS I don't have any issues with my line speeds.

I am on a 6 MB line and get 5.x MB speeds local and international.

Cape Town Tableview

No issues in Cape Town CBD, Tamboerskloof - with good international throughput on 10 Mbps line via reseller of Cybersmart account on non-restored.

Im running off cybersmart (SAOL) and my account is perfect. Even though the line is with SAOL I am able to call telkom up and report faults / port resets or whatever.

Does telkom say that you dont own the line?

Last night was very slow. Downloads completed at 2:30pm!!!!!!

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm having issues accessing google.com and google.co.za
occasionally on my CSmart Account. Other than that I get my full 384K speeds.

Same symptoms, but OK now.

Google has returned to normal for me but youtube on the other hand is a complete hassle. Slow as all hell and caching keeps halting randomly. I'm actually *trying* to waste cap here xD
