Cybersmart slow as hell!

International has been cr@p for the last few weeks, no use phoning them as their tech support dont seem to really care.

Or is too dumb to understand. Cause I get. "Restart your router" "Is the speed better now sir?" OMG No comment

I am using CyberSmart with Night Rider and have never had a problem with line speed or disconnects. I have a 384k line and I actually get spikes up to 58KB/s in the evenings...But my line speed mostly remains constant at around 39.7KB/s in the evening. All problem I am having is the proxy server that limits when and from whwre I can download with all people using one IP. But all ISP's force their proxy upon customers so no point in even going there

It remains constant at about 39.7 because that is the maximum that your line can handle. A 384 kilobits per second line works out to 48 KiloBytes per second max that your line can handle. With the overheads etc etc it should max out at about 40KB/s. That 58KB/s you see are impossible to get on your line and is just normal reporting glitches (same thing happens when resuming a paused download for example).

Cybersmart is really pi$$ing me off now, for the last 4 hours I have been trying to upload two 17mb files to my server, the first one went through perfectly but the second one keeps bombing out.

Am I correct in saying Cybersmart make use of an IP Connect to the ADSL network, ie they provide the bandwidth and hence the bottleneck as well, it would be better for a customer to make use of Telkom / Axxess / Web Africa etc as they just resell the upstream bandwidth of SAIX or IS.

I had issues with Cybersmart about a year ago but last month i figured i give them another try. Once again they gave me shyte and they had the nerve to bill me for 2 months and i didnt even give a f*K about my 6gigs bandwidth. Told them to shove it.

Hmm cybersmart. Down yet again! ADSL shows link up but you can't browse any website

Sitting with a friend on the phone now that is having the same problem, also Cybersmart. :(

Thank God my ADSL will be canceled end of this month. Getting a 4mb line with mweb.

I have the same problem (Durban) - after fiddling around for a while, decided to call Cybersmart. They have a pre-recorded voice message saying that they are currently down and are engaging with Telkom to resolve the issue.

Didn't have any problems from my side. Granted I have a second account from another ISP should they have any problems with their servers

Cybersmart's webpage says that the link from Rosebank to Hong Kong is down.

I phoned SAOL and they also have a pre recorded message saying it is affecting all ADSL accounts but will be fixed shortly.
Lets hope so

OMG!!!! Now the issue is resolved but its like a normal SAIX account now! I get a SAIX IP and I can't use my local bandwidth!

In my connection logs they duplicated 1 session. I downloaded 500mb right. But they deducted in my cap 1.7GB. Now I checked the connection logs and it shows 3 session and if I add them up I get 1.7GB. But here is the twist. 1 session has been duplicated and is exactly the same as the others. Same time same length and same ip and id. Now I'm trying to call them and I get "you are number caller number 32 in line to speak to a consultant" Now how long am I going to wait in line?
