If its an ANC controlled municipality then why does he expect the DA to babysit the lazy ANC lakkies , Maybe if the ANC were not so useless they would monitor their own municipalities and make sure they perform. Instead they cry foul when they get caught with their pants down.

It might be sneaky tactics from the DA but i would much rather have someone thats smart and awake running my municipality than a useless, lazy, greedy pig!

I kinda see this guys point... This was a cunning plot by the DA.

if the DA expected to receive the budget on time, it was the their error... they should've known that the ANC takes way longer to think about things and make stupid statements... they have to take their time to decide what to waste taxpayers money on. You can't rush things like that... Its quite clear the DA was pursuing an agenda by putting timelines to these budget submissions.

I wouldn't say lowered standards though. When I joined the forum in '08 it was a free for all, patting each other in the back & all round high 5s and any bigoted views went unchallenged. Anyone dared question "them" was labelled an ANC supported & troll (of which I was named a few times). Things have moved up as that sort of behaviour while still prevalent doesn't go unchallenged.

There were Angelo, Baloo, tibby.dude and a few others that always challenged popular opinion about the ANC.
 
What I am reading here is that an incompetent bunch of ANC members mismanaged this municipality and their complaint is that the DA didn't save them from their rampant incompetence sooner.

But there are no ANC supporters on the forum. Dtjay is a troll, isede was here to challenge the "white" view by giving "them" a taste of their medicine and that worked for him. Those who get labelled ANC supporters are mainly people who inconvenience the party by bringing in facts into the TIA arguments. Lance has kind of gone mad though jumping on the slightest hint of negative posting.

Edit: In fact it is not usually possible to have a civil ANC debate because most of the people posting have no idea of politics or history. All they do is post dinner time prejudices and what they think they know. In the end all conversations end the same way.

ANC supporters follow a dogma, and one cannot argue, or try to convince someone not to believe in something that is followed without reason. It is clear that the ANC has no regard for the poor, who they claim to represent. They are blind to the fact that supporters of the DA are there because the majority of them want clean, honest government that represents the peoples wishes. ANC supporters are blind to the the overwhelming evidence of corruption, cronyism, nepotism and callous disregard of morality. They're like people who don't believe that man landed on the moon - even if you took them there, they'd still deny it. I just hope that in their quiet time, when they analyze their own conscience, they can be objective, and perhaps realise that the party that the ANC was in 1994 is long gone, and has been replaced by one that is not quite what they think it really it.

Yeah, those silly dinner time prejudices... like talking about Malema singing about killing white people. Silly white people.. what are they thinking.

Silly white people, getting upset by the corruption that is raping our country when we know we have the resources to help everyone. Silly white people for being upset about the massive crime waves sweeping the country... pfff.. what do white people know. Theyre white and only have silly dinner time prejudices.

The 'silly dinner time prejudices' that I believe R13 is speaking of are the ones which automatically conclude that the state of the country is due to black people being in charge, rather than corrupt and incompetent people. The inference is then that blacks are by definition corrupt and incompetent.

We do see marks of this in MyBB from time to time, in spite of everyone's intense efforts to avoid saying anything they think can be construed as racist.

And then there's the delightful chaps who can't wait to sneer at the "monkeys" in government. Perfectly benign of course, but intelligent people should realise by now that calling a black person a "monkey" is a sure way to start a fight rather than a debate.
