Never got mine back, but mine was minimal and the free data makes up for it.

Unfortunately I have been stuck with EDGE signal, which has been really terrible, so I've been missing out on this wonderful data rampage :( . Can't even load a page on this site, it takes up to an hour sometimes.

Now I wonder if MTN and VC could learn from the service we are getting from cellc???? Probably not.

Actually torgo... VC 3G service is incredibly stable where I stay, at our office we often stay connected the whole day without a single issue! But CellC from the same locations is very problematic!

Who received 5GB free data on Cell-C PrePaid?

I got a message from my brother this morning telling to check my data balance.

3 guys that work with him each got 5GB free on there Cell-C data packages. So I checked
just now and see that I also got 5GB free.

My brother didn't get 5GB free. He took out a contract with the 2GB per month deal and me and the other guys who got the 5GB free bought the modem and data for R1499.

everyone's data got reset to 5gb for this month only after they upgraded to new servers over the weekend.

Everyone data was reset on 7th February 2011 so if you were on a 2gig/5gig package and depleted your allocated data everyone automatically would receive 5gig of data only until of February, next month everything will be back to normal.

Also for a few hours all data was zero-rated during a certain time as they were testing the system and doing the necessary migration to the new servers/db, if I remember correctly on that day they had about 2 resets.

I got from cell c 2gig per month for a year, just checked my data balance and I have over 5gig, how's that possible.

This was due to system upgrade - so everyone practically received 5 gig of data, next calender month things will be back to normal, you will receive your allocated 2gig per month.

Also you will notice if you use *101# you will notice free data.

During the update everyones balance was set to zero, so everyone was credited to 5GB. However there was a hiccup where some were not reset (estimated 160 people), if you are one of these people please pm me your data number and i'll will be forward it to Cell C.

Please can you address the access to cellc website only issue... I've had to reboot my router almost 6 times to restore my Internet connectivity! This is becoming very frustrating! PLEASE HELP!

Nice to things back to normal even sites are loading faster if the backhaul of the site I am visiting can handle, just visited a website in America and in less than 2seconds loaded..

I have started a complete new thread, trying to get their attention on this (kinda directly aimed it at Ron), but, as expected, they seem to completely avoid the issue. I assume that they are aware of the problem, but do not know how to fix it, so it is easier to just avoid it completely (we are in Africa after all)

thanks man. well aware of this new thread…. thought i might as well rant all over the forum since CellC is extremely mum on the issue or just ignoring it? They have never acknowledged this problem to begin with and this is frustrating me and 1000000's of users each day!!….all we need is simple feedback….”YES we are working on it”……and give some sort of turnaround time as to when we can expect to have this fixed!!! How difficult can such feedback be?

CellC, if you are reading this….we not asking for much here. Yes we understand the recent hiccups but this particular problem is well over 2 months old and it seems to be deteriorating each day! All I want is a stable ongoing connection with decent connectivity and latencies! too much to ask of?

Exactly. If they would just acknowledge it. I do understand that it's a new system, new infrastructure etc and things won't be perfect, but I personally think they have no clue why it happens, so they refuse to commit to anything as they will be bound to their promises. But a "we are looking into it" would be great!!
