Daylight Robbery !!!!

Hi quik

I need more stories. I have already taking action and i just want everybody they scammed to feel that at least now somebody is doing something about it.

Well all I can say is that it's pathetic that they expect you to pay 4 their over priced products, ,

And I hope that at least you won't make the same mistake twice, always read the fine print. "Also what comes around, goes around." They'll be in 4 something one day: I hope.

Hi Eileen

If you read from the beginning of this thread, that's pretty much my story. Amazing that they're still operating 4 years after I started this.

haha... We were scammed in a similar way about ten years ago by these criminals! What was worse was that it was a church. They called our church and offered these super cartridges. Again a stupid underling accepted the offer without checking first and they sent the stuff. When we saw the price we refused but he had already accepted the parcel. We tried to send them back and delayed payment for about a year. They continued to threaten us month after month. I think we finally agreed to pay them the equivalent value to the store. Funny thing is... by then we didn't even have the printer anymore.

They run this scam by forcing you to accept a shoddy product at an inflated price and then bully and threaten you into paying. The rule to avoid them is to never never accept anything over the phone.

Hi guys

I have placed a story about Stratus Office Consumables on the Carte Blanch web site, and reported them to SAP and The Consumer Protector unit. If all this work these people has got something coming their way big time!!!!!!

Subject: Second Request to return unwanted 2 Brother HL 5070N Dr Bulk Toners to C & N Imaging Products

After doing some research we found that out that we are under no obligation to pay for these highly priced toners, and that it is our right as consumers to request that you please come and collect the above mentioned toners.

We think it stands in good stead that we already paid for two of these highly priced toners before.

Please collect these toners and the R50.00 Woolworths Gift Card.

We do not need these toners as we can get them at a more reasonable price, and we feel that you bullied your order on us.

Please be advised that we received your faced yesterday and we are currently experiencing some problems with out Telkom Lines.
We are also sending this through to our Lawyers for futher investigation.

Kind Regards,
Angelique Botha

I sent the above mentioned letter to them. Then I recieved A Final Notice of intention to proceed in the court of civil justice for recovery of debt.
Please advise

They are once again reverting to bully tactics, they won't go to court seeing as this would expose their racketeering scam. Reply to their message stating that you will be reporting them to the SAP and The Consumer Protection unit, just as Eileen is doing, and then do it!

You have the law on your side.

Here is the last letter we sent then, after which we never heard from them again...

Attention: Dower Business Systems
Date: 22 November 2005

To whom it may concern
.
Please be informed that the product delivered to our premises is to be collected as soon as possible. If your product is not collected within 48 hours we will bill you for the storage thereof or the shipping costs of return, as according to the Consumer Protection Act any cash purchases may be reversed if the client is not satisfied with the product. In this instance there was not even a sale!

Please also be advised that no price was confirmed before delivery and that our company was given the impression that the products were provided on a testing basis without any purchasing obligations. You also have no proof of purchase confirmation, as a delivery note hardly suffices. We would be glad to settle this matter in court should you wish to do so but please take note of the following:

We have been informed that you have “conducted” other businesses into paying exorbitant prices for standard products in the past and we will proceed to the South-African Police Department to lodge a complaint of Fraud.

I am sure they will find the fact that the following company has conducted business in a similar fashion to you very interesting, as a number of witnesses have already come forward, willing to testify:

Business Efficiency Consultants CC2003/021912/23

I would not be surprised if other companies are discovered and linked to you in the process, and will continue to pursue this matter should you not cease your idle threats and abusive business practices.

Your rude demeanor and threats do not phase us, and your unethical business practices are shameful.

You have wasted enough of our time and any further correspondence is to be directed to our lawyers

I also placed a story about these fraudsters on the Carte Blanche web site, never got any reply. This nonsense has got to stop, these people are stealing money in broad daylight.

Hi Guys

I would like everybody on broadband to please go to the Carte Blanch web site and post your stories about these cartriges companies, this is the only way we can stop them. Please guys let's stand as one and show these poeple that we are not the idiots they think we are. Just think about it justice for all.

I'm sure thes guys come from the same scam family as the Haltrex Systems crowd... same MO. Sending unordered cartridges on a seemingly unending 'introduction' order, with a gift voucher, to soothe you for being screwed over :-)
I'm convinced they also change their name when things get too hot.
Strange how they all have the same way of doing business... they don't deserve to be in business, just giving everybody in the industry a vrot name.

haha... these idiots called me again on Friday.

I told them where they could put their cartridge.

Laser Ink Direct
http://www.hellopeter.com/search_results.php?search=laser+ink+direct

Unfortunately I did not catch onto the story soon enough. Our company has already paid for some cartridges, but after hearing about this rude salesman from our secretary I just googled their name and found their Hello Peter complaints.

What can we do to take this further? They can obviously get stuffed trying to get us to pay for postage of their crap cartridges, but are there any grounds to open a case and claim back the money that was already paid to them, either by insurance or from them?

Already lodged a complaint at the Western Cape Consumer Affairs Offices. Awaiting their feedback (up to 5 days).

Great thread! The whole RSA must be warned about these douche bags.

.... and again today. I told them to remove my name from their database.
sheesh! persistent huh :) they luckily left us eventually, but i suspect i can be expecting a phone call soon

Ja, they are using the name C and N imaging systems now.... or C & N ... however they spell it.

They now try to make it more attractive by attaching a woolworths or pick and pay voucher to the offer.

Got another call today from Laser Ink Direct... new guy. Same spiel .... "You completed a survey last year and now we want to send you a complimentary gift voucher and two of our cartridges" I told the new guy to go and google the name of his company on the internet. He was a bit shocked to hear what I had to say about them and didn't know he had signed up with such a company! :D
