Hi there,

I have recently had a Vuma ONT installed in my home and have a flashing red light on the unit.

I'm told that there is a power issue with our complex since tests reveal a high DB loss coming through.

Anybody have any experience with this? Looking at how it can be resolved, since I'm having a huge issue with the maintenance team at Britelink to assist

Thanks

Nothing you can do here. It's a cabling issue. A bad splice, or connector that has some dust in it that needs to be cleaned or something to that effect.

The Vuma guys would need to come out and test the cables to localize and repair the faulty connection.

Not sure how a power issue with your complex would result in high DB loss, As Savage says, bad splice, kink in the fibre somewhere along the line would result in high db loss.

Thanks for all the responses guys,

Britelink is meant to send somebody out today.
Will update later

I was told on Friday that the cables from outside, go into a splitter. The cable from the splitter to out block on the complex has the issue

Oy!

Cheers

Just an update on this

The guys from Britelink came through and I now have only green lights on my ONT

This now needs to be configured by Britelink, then I can contact my ISP.

Hopefully this is the last hurdle a 4 month battle

Thanks
