Good day

For the past two months I'm having intermittent packet loss between 7pm and 9pm daily. Numerous tickets logged with Afrihost and Vuma and being told everytime the line is refreshed it will work but same problem persists. New ONT was installed by Vuma on Monday 11 May 2026 but still issue persists.

Apologies for the delay in feedback.

@AfriNatic has reached out to you and has escalated the matter to Vuma. We will provide feedback as soon as it becomes available.

@Wilhelmc, may I please have full screenshots of the pingplotter tests showing the IP or server you are testing and where the loss starts?

To add @Afrigirl I have also been having packet loss on my Vuma line on weekends and evening time slots

This is over a week
There is currently an issue affecting the DBN<>JHB NLD, which causes packet loss on international services. The team is actively working on the matter and is in the process of scheduling a meeting with our upstream provider during the impact window.

We will provide further updates as soon as they become available.

With @Wilhelmc, the PPPeE sessions are dropping directly from Vuma but they still want to see the client's tests. They are on Vuma Reach, Gauteng.

Would this be the reason my 5G service is so bad ?

Thanks, explains why I've been having the same issue in DBN

Good Evening

Please can I have feedback on the status as this is still recurring every evening just after 7pm? Urgent resolution is required as I'm paying for a service which is not working when needed.
Thank you

This is impacting Twitter and any streaming services too. Honestly who votes for Afrihost as the ISP of the year? And why do they keep boasting about it when their services have been degrading for years?

Resolution Notes - Technicians detected high signal loss approximately 23 km from Bloemfontein towards Theunissen, under the third-party provider TFR. TFR replaced 100 meters of 24-core aerial fiber cable, restoring the link.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with streaming. I believe you’re with Clear Access, so I’ll check the area for any patterns or related issues reported this week.

Good day

Attached as just now. It is happening right now.

This is ridiculous I need my line fixed. Two months of this and no resolution. Afrihost must credit me back for the time I could not use my Fibre. Worst service provider ever. I'm expecting a call from top management as soon as possible. Thank you

Hi, do traces to other destinations look the same?

Also why the double nat in the beginning?

Yes it looks the same.
ONT and router(extender) it's been like this for ever and was never an issue before.

Can you post the mtr to other destinations for me?

Your trace is clean but loss at the destination which is usually related to their network.

Even when router(extender) is off the same is still happening

It's happening intermittently. It's affecting all service not just websites. It shows no internet connection on devices and my solar system and geyser and xbox shows offline and after a few seconds, minutes the connection is back. I'm tired of explaining and doing tests when it is intermittent and by the time I do the test the line is stable again. Must I rather cancel my Fibre line cause clearly for two months no resolution has been made and no fault found everytime a ticket was logged with Afrihost and Vuma. I have 6 tickets logged and all closed resolved. I know you are trying to assist but Afrihost and Vuma is not coming to the table with resolution but they debit me every month for a service I can not use when needed.

If you can post some other examples for me that will help.

I would ditch the extenders in general, go for a mesh system or cables. Regardless of your fibre and ISP.
