Hi, does anyone here have an answer for this problem:

I have 2 decoders (xtraview) and I use the remote IR eyes at the TV’s as my decoders are in a server room (connecting via hdmi over Ethernet). The tv’s are in different rooms, 2 connecting to decoder 2 and one to decoder 1. The system has been working fine for years, I made no changes to the hardware setup. The only hardware issue was a loose cable at the dish lnb connecting to decoder 2 (explora 2) which I reconnected and it was working fine.

The problem I have is that when using the remote via remote or eye on decoder 1 (explora 1), it also changes channels on decoder 2. I called DSTV tech and they made one change - decoder 2 to rf-in. Initially, at the decoders (I didn’t try at the tv’s via the or eye) it seemed to solve the problem as I could use either remote/decoder combination without effecting the other. That is still the case. However when using the remote at the tv’s (with the remote it eye), both remotes now change both decoders when using either of them at the designated tv. So it seems to me that the ir-eye is causing the trouble but I have no idea what to change.

Thanks so much
Go System Settings/Remote Control. Mode1 should be Respond Active and all the other Ignore. Go to the other decoder. Mode2 should be Respond Active and all the others Ignore.

Or something like that ... :D

Old online tv guide having issues again. Site is working but can't retrieve data for the guide.

Newer online guide missing day 14 again.
Endless slots on channel 104 etc. with "TBA" near month end again.

Same old.... their very bad service chasing peeps away. Me too

Maybe they don't pay their staff enough to fund a full month of working tv guides.

That reminds me The Flight Attendant s2 disappeared off the Exploras' 115 schedule on Thursday. It was supposed to start late Monday night, just got to wait and see.

Edit: Flight Attendant s2 is back but for now scheduled next week Monday.

Explora etc. software updates coming..

Model 1: 160/2
GUI: GNAWA
I wonder what would happen if load shedding interrupted the update. My Exploras started updating after coming back from LS.
Not sure what they did, but the "Shows you are watching" tab is back......without me having to rewatch something :) Maybe the Ultra also got updated.....
I wonder if the ARC button started deleting unwanted watched shows again?

And goodie! Before my controllers started working alright again. And now after the update I can barely use back button on the Explora 1 controller and Explora 2 controller the info button not working at all. I get maybe wearing out the back button but the info button?

Delete shows off the list (P-) also works again correctly now
Oh is it P-? I thought it was the arc button, but I haven't tried to delete series off the shows you are watching for a while now.

Just by the way. I don't know what Dstv showed Monday night on 115. Gossip Girl (2022) s1 or Flight attendant s2. Explora 1 has the last episode of Gossip Girl but no first episode of Flight Attendant on Catch Up. Explora 2 has no last episode of Gossip Girl but the first episode of Flight Attendant on Catch Up. Maybe they are trying out ways to air different shows to different Explora versions?

The old online tv guide is still not working. And on the other guide 115 looks like it is getting into a mess from 14th March with 2 shows just appearing on schedule. Not from episode 1 and not reflecting from previous weeks.

Anyone seen any trace of Mad Cat ? She was still posting DSTV CatchUp issues and upcoming series on Facebook until recently. Now all posts there since 5 Sep 2022 has been removed and she's MIA ....
Years since I spoke to her so I'll send her an email & link to your post, but will be up to her to feedback.

After 5 hrs worth of loadshedding I go and check my schedules for today and tomorrow. I moved from Explora 2 to Explora 1 and the screen was black except for a rebooting sign at the bottom. The Explora rebooted and it has lost the signal and has the e48-32 error.

I do turn the setup off at the plug until I'm satisfied the electricity is stable before turning them on. The Explora 2 is still connecting to the satellite, so it hasn't got anything to do with the dish. As far as I can tell the cables look all right. I know it was alright this morning because I saw somebody had played around with the schedule, so it happened after the outage.

I've tried some of the basic suggestions on the internet. I don't want to do anything that can get me to lose the playlist. I don't know if it is worth getting a technician in because this may be a hardware issue from loadshedding and lets face it in tech terms the Explora 1 is old.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit: I notice that the Explora is also rebooting, so I strongly suspect it is a software corruption.

A main MC branch (not an agent) can transfer the playlist items for you to a new decoder, it does now sound like your harddrive is still okay for that.

As you've got 2 Exploras suggest you also get a technician, unless you want to try doing DIY (but won't be with me).

Very important - the Call Centre must first break the existing XtraView link, before you even turn the faulty decoder off.

Good luck

Just for future reference. Can you break the existing XtraView link on their site? And then retire the Explora 1 as the main Explora and make Explora 2 as the main on their site as well? I try to avoid call centres as much as possible.

I was looking at the playlist, it is at 33% (Having hardly anything to record turned out to a blessing). Most of it is actually films that have been sitting there forever and comedies that are on forever repeats on 122. There are 2 actual tv shows that we need to watch. I'm thinking that we clear as much off ourselves and try to do the factory reset when finished. Their service center is far from us. I don't know if it is worth the trip.

Maybe some of that on MyDStv, don't know the mobile app.

Sounds mostly like my Explora 1 Playlist. I've been backing up a few elsewhere.
Think it depends on future plans.

Don't think the unlinking is online available. They expect you to call the call centre and go thru the whole process. I refuse to do that, but then I have an agency close by. I've had numerous visits to them in the past with both decoders :) Getting home, connect it up and everything works .....
