Nice, I could use you. Do you freelance?
We wont be adding disqus right now.
If we do add comments (probably), we will build our own engine into the site.
Please don't. The reason Disqus does so well is because it's a universal platform used by so many websites. Nobody wants to take the time to sign up just to comment on one site -- but if you can comment on multiple sites with the same account, then it is worth it.
As much as your system might be better, Disqus will always triumph.
Agreed. Have always found using Disqus to be the better way to go. Facebook commenting platform is also okay (I see it has been revamped), but Disqus is a better fit.
Question....
Is Disqus indexed?
I know Facebook is not hence why using Facebook comments on a blog hurts your SEO deep in the left bum cheeck I think Disqus is the same.
Using their API, you can make it SEO-friendly.
How about a live chat on the page. I know u mention IRC but not everyone that needs a quick answer wants to download irc and then configure it before searching the channel etc etc.
A live chat where anyone online can just quickly help with a question,a forum for the users to also interact with questions and more, posting about new software and tech related things. It would be really cool to have a network of local developers helping each other.
