I don't see where the article says these cars were "Juiced up" or 10000s spent on modifications? These were 2 stock mini coopers? Don't bash people that want to spend money on their vehicles. Taking an old crap car and building it up again to better than showroom condition is an achievement not something to look down upon. Its a passion, just like its your guys passion to come here and moan. Condolences to the families.

ah, I see a dragon from middle earth joined the forum
welcome
back to the topic - those id10t drivers think they're safe with power steering, airbags and ABS braking... but once the car goes out of control, it's tickets.
My feeling is once you're convicted of a speeding/racing offense, your car be impounded, and you be given a wheezy, powerless car to drive as punishment. (Think big body and small engine).
Or an enforced month in a morgue so you can see the results of accidents.

I might sound like a parent or grandparent when I say the following, but the current generation of young people are not of a very high calibre. While I do not want to paint all young people with the same brush, one just has to look at the faces of these clowns that occupy these cars and I am sorry but my generation did not partake in such activities as street racing.
I hate it when I do that and I'm not even that old.![]()
