LOL, maybe this is reverse psychology, you pay R300.00 for anything between 0.0000000001kb and 0.00000000009kb, when you get 2KB to 5KB, the product actually excite you :D
 
Thats intriguing...

minimum 256k for R300 is a decent deal for me... up to 256k is a bit more of a dubious deal in my opinion.
 
Speeds seem to be picking up :) But somethis HAS to be done about single threaded downloads :(

This has been a really sad development. I had high hopes for the fresh consumer approach of Digichilli. Turns out it was all talk, and little action.

Slow speeds
Unstable network
Empty promises, no longer guaranteed speeds, no more bursting...

Sorry guys, this is a fail in my books...
 
Starting to look l lot more stable at my side, but still very slow

Edit: well spoke to fast, very dead here :(

digichilli seems to be dead for me. Torrents were going like a boing for me at like 60kbps i even saw spike right up to 190. but now dead as a door nail

No, it's 256k minimum, up to double that (burst speed), but yes it doesn't seem to be living up to that atm. 256k is plenty speed for gaming, latency it was ok when I had the test account on SAIX games.

It's not minimum anymore.
It's changed to "UP TO" 256k
 
we should start a thread and add a poll to see how many ppl will pay another month to be with DC and who's cancelling?

They wont invoice me for another month, so i guess i am supposed to leave. A shame as i wpuldnt mind R300 for a 256 internet uncapped...

the shaper does it's job, just pick the speed up
 
I wonder how many more months DC is going to survive? anyone wanna offer some predictions as to when DC will shutdwon? I reckon within 2 months they are history :)

In my view, this is very early days...in fact - I sincerely hope they survive. This country is in dire need of broadband/ uncapped competition ;)

Yep a VERY important change made there. I also remember clearly it saying "minimum" implying you get a solid 256 kbps speed and then -might- go "up to" your line maximum if the network allows for it. It would mean you could get 4mbit/s speeds on the cheapest package, which by the sounds of it actually happened at some point......which imho is an insane thing to offer.

So now they corrected this to what my "common-sense radar" assumed it really should have been ; "Up to" , implying your MAX is 256 kbps (on the cheap package) , and more likely you'll get an average lower than that.

This is where Screamer had a better offering in my eyes, because their cheapest package is "up to 384 kbps", which is the standard ADSL line everyone will have at minimum. No one have a 256 kbps line, so you will never get full use or even optimal use of your line on DC , unless you get a different package. Unfortunately the next package is 512 kpbs which is again not useful for the 384 oaks [more expensive too] and not perfect if you're on a 4 mbit/s line either. Chances are in this day and age, if you have ADSL, you will be either on a 384 line or a 4 mbit/s line....not any of the inbetween stuff.

Of course DC is R100 cheaper, but still, i also want to use the account for other than "bulk downloading". I probably won't download 70GB a month -anyway- and more likely will end up getting about 30GB , but then at least i want full use of my line when i browse/stream/game .
