I am battling like hell with http download speeds and browsing.....that pipe thing is turning into a night mare.....cause there is no way I can browse and download at the same time......

yeah last time i checked it was minimum 256 guaranteed or something like that, well no more DC for me either, and man what a horrible experience. well to be fair it was really good while there was bursting.
Agreed! Really Disappointing... It started out good but now it is a failure... At the speed I'm currently downloading some downloads might take years to complete... And also don't get me started on browsing.
About a month ago (definitely in december) that used to say something like "minimum speed of 256kbps"
Each package would get min 256 and max their package speed - or that was the idea (I think) ..

Oddly enough I'm getting tiny short bursts with torrents this morning, but not even to package speed sigh. I really would like an update but something tells me some seriously big is going down at DC atm. I think they know their whole virtual pipe thing is in shambles, tho it was *kinda* a good idea

Yeah, them...
Anybody that have a paid for rapidshare account, must go check the download log from rapidsahre.com, as mine showed I used in excess of 30gig, while actually only getting about 1.5gig a day. The log showed my DC IP so somewhere something is not lekker, either DC shaper is "stealing" my traffic, or someone with the same IP and rapidshare username is stealing my traffic usage. Which do you think is the most likely? I have mailed Dave and DC and am awaiting a response. Will post here once I receive one.

Check my post earlier...bandwidth meter says i did 1.7 GB but only 300MB of my file was downloaded???? i stoppe downloading torrents and news at the same time and problem dissapeared...
i only use rapidshare, not torrents, no news serves etc. This is still not right, shows full 4meg line speed usage, but almost no actual downloads. With netlimiter it also shows full line speed, but only getting 20KB/s my side.

I ran about 10 tests one after the other. They all show a similar pattern. 350KB for the 1st second or so, then drops to 250KB for a few seconds then the usual drop off to 0, then the erratic bursts up to a few MBps.
Please people, download the MyConnection PC program and run tests and post the result pics here.
