DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I have not been able to authenticate with chilli for the past two days and don't have the inclination to phone. I think when I phone it will be to cancel. I commend them on leading the way but think it's time to sample the other offerings. The more ISP's that jump in on uncapped, the better the overall speeds and client distribution. Digi are suffering because they have a huge share with their favourable pricing.

Ok I just discovered that when I entered my CC details for my payment at initial signup, it did not store those details and does not do recurring billing, so it seems I must do the payment again - that's why I have had the lights and water turned off (1/3 way into the month). I have decided to leave it at that, no renewal and no Feb payment. *sigh*

Dead and it was going so well.....

EDIT: It's sorta back up but not as fast as before

Kinda all dead here .. torrents running @ 5 - 10 kb/s but http dead. Usually when I have torrents downloading http worked but at a crawl .. no just nothing :/

No 4mb offering.
Shaped.
Very expensive.

Sorry guys, but getting an IS business classed 4mb uncapped unshaped account at R2600-R2900 is better than the offerings I see on the DigiChilli site.

I was getting full line speed(40KB/s) for the past 30 minutes but it has reverted back to the 20KB/s average again.

Spicy 384

I had quite good bursts there for a few minutes, it was like waking up and realising it's christmas again but when it went away it was like waking up and remembering it was all just a bad dream :o

Though right now I am still getting 25kB/s average now, but it just feels like Mediafire is being badly shaped :erm: With so many people cancelling I expect there to be a lot of bandwidth clearing up and I've got plenty of things queued up ;)

So to recap speeds:

HTTP Single: 28kB/s max (from rapidshare free user download :D)
HTTP Multi threaded: 25kB/s-30kB/s max burst ( from mediafire with 8 connections )
Torrents: What torrents I think their extinct :wtf:
Audio Streaming: Perfect
Video Streaming: Better than before
IM: Works like a charm
Browsing: Actually very good tho downloading does strain it somewhat

Has anyone tried local/international gaming? Would love to know how that is doing :) BTW Where'd Lightscribe go?

still dead....

I was banned from MyBB for 3 days... http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...P-to-ensure-the-lowest-bandwidth-costs/page27

Gaming has it's ups and downs also. The connection frequently cut off and sometimes the redial would be fast enough and within a minute the screen stops it's freeze and the game could continue, but at other times it took more than 1 redial and Secondlife would cut the connection.

Right now DC is dead. It logs in and tries to load pages but hangs. Ultra slow also. Nothing works.

Ouch that was a bit harsh, but still it is nice to have you back.

Speeds are near package speed my side so I guess I can't complain. Keep it up DC :)

all working again torrents kinda on same speed @ 20 - 30kb/s http browsing not crawling quite as slow as before and http download @ 25 - 32 kb/s (shot up to 36kb/s for like 3 seconds) with torrents downloading streaming still very slow

Thanks. :)

The MyConnection PC tests show me getting 25-34KB, but sites, local or international just hang after very slowly loading 10-30% of the page.

Secondlife won't work either.

Basically dead for me.

just be aware, when you entered your info the first time it was insecure. Which means that it could easily be found by others. Be careful. Watch your cards.

Any updates on the 2 concurrent connections policy change?

My partner on my mild account is enjoying great speed but mine refuses to work. It signs in successfully, but no data is allowed through.

I paid for half the account, and am absolutely shocked digichilli would simply turn my R500 mild account into a 1 connection account without any warning. This is the final straw if true. I'm now going to have to spend further money to keep my connection going when i had already paid for data this month. This is going to cost me a few extra hundred this month.

What a joke.

I'm hoping webafrica does something sufficiently interesting on monday next week. I'm absolutely tired of not have a stable and working connection.

I'm still trying to avoid moving my line to an isp, but it seem i will soon have to succumb so that i can begin to enjoy decent internet.

See now what worries me is at the moment everything is running great for me....but (evidently) quite bad for some others. (Whereas it was the opposite case until today)

Is this some incredibly odd bug that requires half the users to be in crapsville at any given time?
