DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Hi All

I have a question:

Does digichilli make a debit order or not...as they have not contacted me to verify any of my banking details as of yet.

I made a EFT somewhere late in DEC2009 and thats it, still online...i tried to make payments via their site but their page was not updated and gave incorrect information when i applied for the direct debit payment option...

I wont be liable for their mistake, will I????
No money has been deducted from my account, but I'm online.....this worries me, FREE INTERNET----->NEVER IN ZA

Ah OK thanks will wait for SAINET then.

They offer uncapped on 384kbps for R500 including line.
Digichilli is R300 + R152 for 256kbps.
I don't mind paying R48 more for better speed and undoubtedly better service.

Me thinks about SAOL with that comment. Sure SAOL was great in the beginning and everyone dissed DC because of their problems, but now even SAOL are having problems. I hope SAINET come through, the more competion the better! :D R48 isn't so bad in the end, but I don't think SAINET will be able to offer what DC has going for it (month to month & not having your line locked being 2 of the best things about DC). DC is great at the moment and it gets better every day. :)

Oh and about news servers DC plan to launch their own so my maths is as follows:

SAIX x Multiple users over multiple ISP with access to a SAIX news server = congestion
DC x DC users only = Less hassles more speed

SAIX
------ = Same content on news servers
DC

So the only answer I can come up with is SAIX < DC*

*please note these equations are stupid and are only valid if DC actually release their own news server and are clever enough to close access to only DC IP's

Unless they have sent you an invoice I'd calmly say you can't be held responsible. :D DC must stop providing you with a connection, it's their job not yours/ours. Would any other ISP allow you a connection without payment? Nope they won't, so I guess you're lucky for now and until they bill you for the next month's connection don't sweat it. Oh and I could be wrong but I'm pretty confident I'm not. :p

has any one from dc posted any updates here recently? and does any one have some numbers on gaming on the dc network or is that still taboe?

I know they don't do it for Credit cards

HOPE SO!!!...My whole exp with dc in Dec & Jan was a joke...barely got 10gig out of them, but Feb and March....buhahahahaha speed still sucks but atleast its free for now.

What problems are SAOL having? Running smoothly...

I didn't say everyone on SAOL was having problems ;) BUT even you can't deny that their have been a few thread where people are complainig about SAOL recently, "SAOL Horrible Service" thread being the latest.

Like I said I hope DC has more competion. It means they have to work harder and bring out better packages and services. I hope you enjoy your internet because I definatley am enjoying mine. :)

Digichilli are clearly acknowledging the issues because they continue to take a hit by giving us 20% discounts, i'm sure they can't wait to charge full price. <---random line of the day

Actually I get the feeling they don't know they are undercharging. I sometimes get the feeling no-one is paying attention.

I've just accepted the fact that digichilli for now is a download account, kinda like the local accounts i used to buy were. I include 3 gigs of afrihost into my budget for when digichilli isnt working, but to be honest i do everything on digichilli 95% of the time. The net result is i don't get stressed out by the slow progress, in fact i don't event think about it anymore but rather focus on the extremely cheap gigs. Digichilli gigs works out to less than a quarter the price of afrihost's gigs.

If a better deal comes along i'll move.

I use DC for everything, and have no real probs. I pause my Astra while browsing, Skype fine, all my IM's work, and I managed 68GB in Feb on a 384k line.

This month, its flying, so I will do a lot more. I average 2.8GB per day down, and 800mb up, so its going good.

DC is doing good for me as well, at this moment i am having probs with http but torrents are flying at about 400kbs on a spicy account.

Digichilli always blocks access to rapidleech, or is this just a bit of bad luck ?
