DigiChilli January Status and feedback

DC is a bit more stable today but I wonder if it's because people are leaving for MWEB

Wonder what DC is going to offer us now that their is someone cheaper and well known on the market. I still think DC has a lot of potential if they can get their stuff together :erm:

Speeds:

HTTP Single: 13kB/s-17.7KB/s
HTTP Multi: 28kB/s-40kB/s
Torrents: 32kB/s
Browsing: Slow
IM: Working
Audio Streaming: Working
Video Streaming: Slow but working

DC I hope you plan on doing something soon to keep all your customers :)

YAWN.

signed up for 4mb uncapped residential @539/month. so far: EXCELLENT!!!! 2.6mb/.27 down/up to/from UK and US!! decent latency (100ms local, 300ms international). prorated the first month. my vpns work fine, apparently not shaped. so far, so amazing. voip works (single channel).
we'll see how this proceeds as the take on more customers but to Mweb: wow, you totally made my month!

i have seen the above post in a few threads now.
It seems like you are advertising - you dont work for MWEB, do you?

My DC is dead, can't download or browse.

Edit: Okay back up, these 5 minute long disconnects are annoying.

DC just died for a few minutes. Back up and looking decent.

Same here. The only problem is that speeds are not constant I can't stand this 37kb/s to 45kB/s anymore

DC is stabilising minute by minute here but still a lil unstable I think. DC needs to seriously step it up :p

Hehe! :D Yes, this the crunch moment for DC.

I'm going to try MWEB 512k since my old line cannot go higher and compare the way Secondlife plays.

Unless DC can match the price, speeds and quality, I'll move to MWEB at month end (or sooner since it's pro rata), until an even better offer comes along, as the year progresses, more cables come online and the war heats up.

DC will now have to drop the 256k product.

We are now moving forward at full speed. :D

No, I don't work for Mweb. I tried Digichili and Screamer who both mucked me about for ages, totally underdelivering and stringing me along. So now that I have something that appears to REALLY work, I've decided to save others the pain and let them knwo what a great job Mweb have done.

Repeat: I am not an Mweb employee. Just check my prior posts over the past 2+ yrs and you'll see... You seem to have a lot more time on your hands and seem content beating your head against Screamer. Good luck to you!

Sorry, Digichilli.

You've had since January to convince me to stay a customer. I STILL cannot play my games online.

Everyone is flocking to MWeb. So am I.

Thanks for the bandwidth (when it worked). But I wanted an account that I can game on. Why is it that the capped accounts, running at 384, I can play perfectly, and yet your account is worse than terrible? I can't even connect.

Good bye.

Sigh,

Ok DIGIWilly isn't worth it...

Packet loss- 10-99%, that is worse than my gprs vodacom connection that sometimes gets as bad as 1%

ping local 200ms? Why is it that high?

Ping international- 1500ms? unusable

All websites have timeouts, some international websites just wont load at all.

Online gaming? hah! good luck...

downloading an update for battlefield bad company 2, just the update is impossible. It keeps saying the connection to the server is lost.

So I try to contact their customer support, 1st try e-mail: no reply for a day. Call them person says give me my username and they will get back to me: I ask if they want my phone number and they put the phone down into my ear??????????????????????????

send them another e-mail

another day has passed. not a peep from them, well then shove your chilli I will send you an request for an refund and buy an mweb account :/

38ms local ping here and 0% noticeable packet loss (maybe a specific address to test?) at the moment. Definitely something wrong with your account or line, try calling the call centre and REFUSING to be gotten back to. I was having troubles at one point and told them I'd chat with them as long as it took to sort out, turns out it didn't take long at all *that* way.

Try Speedtest.net and pingtest.net

For gaming in particular you need your line needs to be stable, very little packet loss. pingtest.net is the perfect tool to test this

my telkom and my shiny new openweb account both get B's on pingtest.net , low ping with almost no jitter and 0% packet loss. Digichilli? F

E-mailed me now, after I demanded a refund. Here is what they had to say:

This is a Managed Service and priority will always be given to Business Protocals.

The Spicy package is intended for general ordinary businesss usage and browsing.

Using this package for games will not really yield effective results as games are bandwith intensive. The Mild,Medium and Hot packages can effectively handle such bandwith intensive programs.

You have to prioritise your protocals.

Note however that if you insist on closing the account we will ask our accounts department to proceed. Please advise.

This e-mail made very little sense to me, to the accounts apartment jeeves!
