DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Digichilli this morning isn't good at all. My speeds also have dropped to about 10kB/s average. I am hoping that there is something behind this like Digichilli Phase 2 or something like that. In reality I have a feeling Seacom/Neotel is to blame. Even Gmail isn't working. :(

Let's see if it get's any better.

The torrents are now shaped it's gonna give you slow speeds at this stage. please bare with us and we apologies for the inconvenience .

Right now a lot of those issue are still trying to be resolved sir and we trying our best to provide the best service for our customers at this stage and further investigate any faults reported by our customers once again i would like to apologies for the inconvenience from digichilli.

Wonder if it is actually a good idea for them to shape torrents now. If they gonna start shaping they gonna lose the advantage they had over the competitors, and the reason most of us is still with them.

It could be temporary? Even if they shape it slightly it'll be okay as long as you manage to get full speeds at night and on weekends like every other ISP. As long they don't shape anything else I'm still happy with them :D
 
Hmmm HTTP has been iffy for me all day today as well. Pity but I suppose we did go quite a long time without one of these hiccups.
 
Yeah its been pretty poor for about a week now, with the last two days being unacceptable.

I wonder why?
 
Just phoned them now it's only going to be fixed around 11.00 tomorrow - they say there's also a telkom problem
 
Hmmmm I am actually suspicious it is the SHAPER ITSELF at fault once again. My (reliable) source and most common ones run barely over 10kBs whereas I just had a youtube video download at 30+ with ease.

Wouldn't be surprised though as the "world-class shaper" has never really improved things and the experience has always seemed better with it dead and buried.
 
It can definately be a shaper problem too. I was wondering why some sites worked while others were dead slow. Also Youtube is humming along while trying to download anything from HTTP gets me 8-10KB/s.

This does remind me of the dark 2 months of DC's going live. If it is that then well Telkom was also to blame but so was DC's "world class shaper". Seeing as DC is trying to shape torrents I say let's blame the leechers :p

EDIT: Gmail & Pidgin are finally working. Speeds are still cr@p though :p

OK just ignore me. Speeds are back!!!! Just had to disconnect and reconnect lol :D

Anyone else finally getting good speeds again?

EDIT: Sigh still unstable but getting there :o

My news server speeds suck but browsing seems fine to me.
