DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I'm almost getting full speed using astraweb with 10 connections, But stability is a nightmare. 1 Moment i'm able to receive emails, Via outlook, 10 minutes later I can't even open gmail website or even connect to a news server.

My news server speeds are still useless connecting to astraweb.

I have tried to get a hold of them today, but seems like everything is broken on their side.
I sincerely hope this is a technical problem and not their shaper shaping the crap out of everything.
If I look around the forum it seem like Digichilli is one of the ISP`s that isn't (normally) shaping the cr@p out everything.

Do you mean that even their phone system doesn't work OR that they told you everything is broken?

Regardless though, It's 100% certain this is shaping as when this started I tested a switch from the same source between http and https. IMMEDIATELY got 100% speed on https........but then they likely read my post here (or just decided to do it randomly) and started shaping that the next morning.

My only hope is this is temporary and that either they have a very good reason for shaping things *for now*......orrrrrr that they soon realise how mad shaping a 256k connection to hell and back is.

I really shouldn't post when I`m tired.
I tried the whole day to get through to them but all I got was an busy tone, tried them again today but again all I get is the busy tone.
I also send them a few mails but I have not received any response.

The lack of digichilli is one of the main problems I have with them. Sure everybody have some technical trouble from time to time but
at-least send out a mail or some smoke signals for goodness sake.

So anyone have any luck/heard anything today? (I'm asking as I am evidently too half-assed to call them myself at this point)

Don't know bout the others but my account has been working reasonably good, the last 24hours. Torrents between 30kbps and 40kbps. News servers I am battling to get a connection, but if it does connect it stays connected till I disconnect.

But even if they manage to sort out everything i'm still considering jumping ship.

This is pathetic, the only thing Digichilli is good for at the moment is browsing. My normal http downloads are between 0-1KB/s and my Rapidshare is between 0-7KB/s. I left a 175mb Rapidshare file downloading from 00:00am - 09:00am and when I checked it at 09:00am it was on 94%, I then go to rapidshare.com to check my traffic logs and it says I downloaded 5,3gigs, thank God it was during Happy Hours so I didn't lose much traffic.

Is this a problem that Digichilli is trying to resolve or have they decided to implement an IS FUP system and shape the hell out of their customers.

It is impossible to get a hold of them and I`m in the process of moving over to MWEB, this really is the peak of uselessness!!
Cheers digichilli you really know how to f#ck things up.

Cancellation email is typed, just need to press send. Can't believe how quickly they screwed this up.

Sigh even I'm looking around :(

I just wish other uncapped packages allowed for 24/7 downloading if you wanted  Too bad everywhere has some sort of FUP/AUP hidden in their T&C.

SO it's either Openweb Uncapped Gold or MWEB - who knows maybe DC can actually pull one out their arses and fix things before month's end

I don't think just a fix will change my mind, maybe a case of beer or 4 with fixing it. Normally one could phone them and scream at the guy at the other end till something is working. Now to get hold of them is nearly impossible.

Luckily my usage dropped considerably, so looking at at wazzup or trl, where its unshaped even if there is a "cap"

Edit

Xineox things must really be bad if the 2 of us is jumping ship :p

I do between 60-70 gigs a month and the only package I could find is the Internet Addict from MWEB, but its R250 more than I`m paying now but what other choices is there?

Heard good thing bout openweb gold, but see there is also a shaped and unshaped.

Lol yeah clickme we are the ones who are usaully defending DC and always saying how great it is/was :D

The only thin worrying about Openweb Gold is that they get some bandwidth from IS and you know how great IS are  I guess I should start trolling their forums and see whats up ;)

Tho if anyone here gets anymore info on Openweb Gold do share. If any ISP can offer me at least 70GBs a month then I'll deffinately be considering it.

EDIT: Seems there is a huge Telkom problem. I am being silly in hoping that that might be the reason why DC is sucking? They did say Telkom was to blame so there is a tiny bit of hope :o

I moved over to MWEB last night and I have full line speed. Tried the cool down option at Digichilli but recieved the following message:
This service is currently unavailable, please contact our call centre on 087 94 10 HOT(468), for cooling down and cancellations.
How the hell am I supposed to call them if the number is not working?
Even if Digichilli fix the problem I cant see myself hanging on to them, their service is is terrible and I need my reliable internet at home for business purposes.
