DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Things are still wonky here too, and now even HTTPS is slow as all hell.

Some sources are still much faster however so they probably just started shaping HTTPS now too :/

Has anyone heard any solid updates from DC about this problem? 11am came and went with things looking just as bad aaaand from all I've seen it is DEFINITELY a shaper issue like we had in the early days.

Things are still iffy speed-wise here. Most protocols (even HTTP) max out at 8kBs and repeatedly time out. No replies for me either though....

I must say my patience is starting to wane. The big issue is not knowing when it'll be fixed, it does seem like you can't trust the times given.

while I have been a big supporter of them. I think that they just took it one step to far, by doing work on the network that affects the customers to this extent without notifying them in advance. Haven't they actually learned anything the last couple of months? I have a feeling this might be my last month using them.

+1

For quite a few hours i've been getting exactly 9K with astraweb. Its clearly shaped. I wonder what their future intentions are with this?

That's what worries me. Why are they suddenly shaping and for how long? They've done this a few times before (early months) but each time realised their shaper isn't worth the bytes it's written in and shut it down promptly to restore the usually very decent service.

I probably wouldn't be as worried if they were being more communicative at this point......and god knows phoning them is a gamble of either getting one of the two level headed guys or one of the Eishtastic generic call-center staff.

DC's shaper isn't stupid it's the people who chose to use it again who are the retards of the year. My hopeful side is wanting DC to be upgrading their network so as to give us better prices and may better packages. My less optimistic side tells me DC was leaking bandwidth through torrents, decided they needed to do something and have now completely screwed their network up. Why fix something that isn't broken?

Today is a wonderful day. I'm getting litteraly Dial Up speeds. YAY :o

Lucky bastard at least you getting some sort of speed

They played doodle-me-shaper quite a bit back in the day , but when mweb launched their uncapped account the shaper was boxed and digichilli became awesome. I'm quite frustrated by the fact that they fiddle as much as they do for as long as they do, surely it shouldn't take more than a week. Putting a shaper in the hands of digichilli employees doesnt seem to result in much clarity or progress.

Its unbelievable really.

Speeds do seem better at the moment.

Getting exactly 24KB/s on a single threaded download from mediafire now. Was getting anything between 14-20KB/s since about 12pm today. Signs that things are finally getting sorted or just some luck? Either way things may be looking up. If they can sort this out by the weekend then at least they'll save some customers.

On a side note my hard drive hasn't had this much free space in a while. It's all thanks to new and improved DC diet, it really works :p

Anyone dared the act of actually calling them about this issue? Advantage is an immediate reply........disadvantage is it's often an incoherent one.....
