DigiChilli January Status and feedback

My friend is getting gud speeds....40-48Kbps+ since yesterday ...all day long...

but my account still crap speeds....

?????why

its the exact same accounts: Spicy (on 4mbps line)

this is ridiculous....
 
I spoke to them and i was able to get some info.

They have been taken over by bscgroup. It hard to know what that exactly means, as we all know digichilli gets its bandwidth from bcsgroup in the first place.

They said if you use an excessive amount, they shape you more. If you keep your download levels down you won't suffer from such heavy shaping.

They are going to launch an updated website with a new package spread fairly soon.

I think this is a classic case of "Under New Management". Thats why we are experiencing a new "teething phase".

And with that Digichilli has screwed themselves worse than Afrihost... :(

Unless they can come up with some amazingly good then well they have most likely will lose 90% of their user base. Sad really.
 
So they're taking the IS route of shaping? Possibly the worst decision they could have ever made and I suspect we'll all likely find ourselves at other providers by the new month's beginning.

At least paying DC by EFT means dropping them is even easier done than said.
 
Hmmm same that happend to screamer uncapped. And never heard another word of them again.

To add they are off to a very very bad beginning, of not informing their users of what's going on. And blaming telkom etc.

Phoned them again this morning - they are definitley shaping and according to them it's during business hours only. The guy also said that they hadn't communicated this. (well tell us something we don't know) Still waiting for the promised call back........ :mad: Ok so any suggestions on who to move to? :erm::confused:

I cancelled my digiwilly a long time ago. These people think a shaper is what you get in the gym.

Honestly, they havent a clue as to how to run a network.

LOL @ shaper definition. But honestly till the start of September they were actually good(after the initial problems they had which I believe was also due to the .spit. shaper, and also the amount of users they signed up. But now it's terrible.

Dial up is not only faster it's more stable to.

So who is moving where? Are we going to hold weekly / monthly meetings for old DC clients :p
 
Torrents and news servers is now completely unusable here. News servers just wont connect, and all torrent tracker is offline (timed out) or connection closed by peer.

They also don't want to confirm that they received my cancellation letter, luckily pay by credit card and not debit order. Think I should give them a call this week.

Thing is the product DID work. It's been fantastic for months...............now that the shaper is on it's shot to hell..........but try get them to realise that.

During September my usage has been way less then 20 :p, but we all know who to thank for that. But my usage is lower than what it was in the beginning, and I will be able to get along with between 20 and 40 gigs a month. But then I don't want to be told how to use it and where to use it.

I don't think I've really noticed being shaped... or maybe I'm lucky, lol...
