DigiChilli January Status and feedback

well before a couple days ago i had downloaded at full line speed many times. got a 7.5gb iso in less than 5 hours about a week ago.
 
Im still using my test account. Torrent speeds have picked up to about an average of 10kBps. It fluctuates though couple of secs its only 4kBps then it picks up to like about 12kBps.
 
Things are not going so great for me here, speeds have decreased by about 9 times the amount that they were 2 days ago on the news server...
 
Was good while it lasted. Lets hope they get this sorted quickly. Dont want to make the screamer leap, and an ISP taking ownership of my line is out of the question.

In that case, I got 68 gb from 19,5 days, paid R350 for it means R5.14 / GB... bet you I got a good deal, yes? Yes! Even better is that I got full line speed all the time with no downtime!

You are not going to like that either...

In the end, the die hards clinging to this service is the people killing it...4 meg line users praying (preying) they will get full line speed during a burst for R250 (Half the cost of Medium).

They are only getting it done, because instead of fixing the real problem (implementing proper speed rules based on packages) they are fooling around with a shaper, one that Dave told multiple times they will not have to use...not in the way like other ISP have done in the past, we understand downloads...
 
For some sites it's like using dialup, some it goes pretty well. Still got the issue with images not loading fully (sometimes) and torrents seem pretty dead :)

Will still be paying for Jan for now but considering SAOL

I did too. On Monday I paid and I tried. Tuesday it worked again.

Good for you. If i successfully repeat last month quota of around 50 gigs i will be paying R200/50 = R4 a gig. Not to shabby i would say.

Moving my line over to an isp is a major sore point for me.

I'm glad you are happy with saol, but i'm playing with a different set of cards, and for me digichilli was the right choice for January. Maybe itll be for February aswell. If not ill just move.

I'm not sure why you are still going about that, Dave has said they are well aware of the problem. Do you honestly think if they could fix it in a day they wouldnt have. I'm saddened by the slowness of the fixes, but for now i'm choosing to be patient. In a month or so i'll know where i want to spend my money.

We were bounced onto a backup link by an upstream provider yesterday. We are currently back on the main link but are still experiencing some technical issues with it.

I cannot game, but until I can again...Which just flowed better than any other gigs from any other ISP...I will be happy to browse and download at full speed...

Complaints? Real ones?

I somehow have the feeling that the next status update will be something along the lines of...

Hilly was arrested last night after police investigated a brutal attack on his mother. Hilly struck his mother with a shoe due to his alcohol abuse. I tried to pull him away and unfortunately my ear got caught in his mouth...

isnt it funny how I havent seen Dave or Hilly post on these forums in a while now?
