DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I am sensing that sooner or later someone is going to get really cheesed off, and just like with Telkom/Sentech, there is going to be a campaign to really cause problems for DC (or Screamer maybe as well).

This is beyond irritating, but the severity of the downtime kind of makes me hopeful they are doing some major back end improvements.

I'm also glad to hear they will be changing the site. It's just such a pity someone hasn't come over here to tell us what is going on.

WE NEED INFO

Maybe it's an upstream issue and they're also cut off. I doubt they have spare Afrihost accounts. Just a thought. This silence is quite eerie!

I hope so too...I except the fact that 3rd parties are also to blame...I mean you cannot get jelly out of a rock but it doesnt mean you cant try!

I personally think they have cut off everyone from the network so they can work on it, hopefully doing something major.

lol, downtime like this is insane. :o

For the first few days I was okay with the downtime because I am still able to download quite a bit when it is up and get my money's worth for bandwidth. That often seems to be Dave's argument. "we can't complain because we are still using 30-50gb a month for 240 rand," etc. But the problem for me is that now I am having to spend an additional 150 rand or so this month on Afrihost as well because of all their down time. So I AM NOT GETTING MY MONEY'S WORTH! It is actually costing me a lot more to have them. I was okay if it was down 20% of the time, but the last week it has been more like 60-70% of the time.

Who the hell said that silence is golden, a bit of feedback would help. If they are having problems then tell us, do not keep customers in the dark. Frustration and lack of communucation can cripple ones business.

Network
Catastrophic failure of upstream provider.
9th January 10:00 am
Still no connectivity whatsoever.
Call centre is trying to get to answer all calls.

The big question is, based on where they are now, how long will it realistically take for them to get where they need to be?

Does their business model include enough staff, is it incompetence, or could it be a conspiracy headed by the scum of the earth --->telkom?

This is all very concerning

Hi Dave,

Why are ppl unable to authenticate? Is your radius server in the data centre at the upstream provider?

What are you guys planning to do about your upstream providers?

If you fail, i know with full certainty cybersmart/saol will realize they can increase prices on their uncapped offerings.

If things continue like they are you will absolutely fail.

I hope DC arnt paying for there service from there "upstream provider" They not providing much are they?

Why cant we authenticate if its with the upstream provider?
