The Department of Communications recently told Parliament that the deadlines of key activities in SA’s digital migration are at great risk of not being met

According to the DoC, the main reasons are “internal DoC approval delays” and “lack of capacity or specialist resources to manage the delivery.”

So, the DoC releases a statement that the deadlines are at risk from the DoC whose exact job it is to handle the migration. Sounds like a blatant attempt to get more money to me.

Guess we'd better be prepared for the 'LLU deadlines at risk' article between now and Nov.
To think some of us actually thought big Roy could do the job.

It took the U.S.A and Europe almost ten years tocompletely completly migrate to digital .How are S.A going to do it in two years. :wtf:

I Have to agree I am not sure what modules are in place and how the actually going to meet such optimistic deadlines but in anything this major whether it is implementing a ERP or moving a whole country to digital I do think they have bitten of a bit more than they can chew, just think of the logistics involved in delivering the set top boxes and arranging installations and getting the billing going. Ask poor old toptv what they went through when suddenly 6 months of stock was bought in one weekend. There is potential here for greatness whether its great success or great failure it remains to be seen but I do think 2 years may be just have been a bit over zealous.
