BTW im.on a platinum cc do I get an extra cash back?
With the new credit card, what is the Discovery Miles earn rate? And do you still pay the annual fee to join Discovery Miles or is that now free?
Earn rate for Miles seems to be based on transaction date and not the date it clears so should have been reset for all transaction from 01/01 alreadyShould the miles earn rate be back to normal from today? Dont want to spend money at the capped 1% rate .
Thanx I checked some smaller swipes and it was correct before i did my big swipeEarn rate for Miles seems to be based on transaction date and not the date it clears so should have been reset for all transaction from 01/01 already

Please explain, what do you mean it's returned to normal?Should the miles earn rate be back to normal from today? Dont want to spend money at the capped 1% rate .
Referring to the spend threshold I would imagine. Ie 15,000 for plat or 25,000 for black. Please explain, what do you mean it's returned to normal?

When you reach a cumulative spend level of R25,000 in a month your Miles earn rate is limited to 1% on any transaction incurred after hitting R25,000 (compared to 6.66% on transactions before reaching R25,000 if you are on Diamond status and black suite). Please explain, what do you mean it's returned to normal?
Ahh okay thanks for the explanation,I'm.not way near R25k spendWhen you reach a cumulative spend level of R25,000 in a month your Miles earn rate is limited to 1% on any transaction incurred after hitting R25,000 (compared to 6.66% on transactions before reaching R25,000 if you are on Diamond status and black suite).
I also suspect that the R25,000 changes depending on what account you have(?), so does the 6.66%.
The 1% earn rate resets to 6.66% (in my example) on the 1st of each month.
The black card is Visa Signature and should be accepted by any LoungeKey lounge. It’s not the issuing bank that matters, it’s the type of Visa card. Bidvest doesn’t accept LoungeKey afaik... I don’t think any South African lounges do.I was upsold to the black card on the basis of lounge access. I checked it on and it promised acces to all the loungekey lounges (there is an app which says where they are). I went to the bidvest lounge at East London airport and they didn't accept discovery black card. Anyone with any experience ? Seems the only easy to raise the issue is to call them, which is not great either.
I think the idea is that Discovery will be opening their own lounges. Not sure when that will be but it was definitely announced at launch.I know with FNB they give 10 visits with their lounge key but it's only for outside of SA
I have the discovery platinum cc and very disappointed that they not giving lounge access ,yet all other banks in Sa give On platinum cards
It's on their app, so implies it is. I see now perhaps I should have generated this virtual card thing....The black card is Visa Signature and should be accepted by any LoungeKey lounge. That's cool whenever that happens, but that still won't give me access internationally with my.platinum card Unless they change thatI think the idea is that Discovery will be opening their own lounges. Not sure when that will be but it was definitely announced at launch.
