I am on gold, black card, only get 2.5%

Really need to get to that 6% rate!

When you reach a cumulative spend level of R25,000 in a month your Miles earn rate is limited to 1% on any transaction incurred after hitting R25,000 (compared to 6.66% on transactions before reaching R25,000 if you are on Diamond status and black suite).

I also suspect that the R25,000 changes depending on what account you have(?), so does the 6.66%.

The 1% earn rate resets to 6.66% (in my example) on the 1st of each month.

I was upsold to the black card on the basis of lounge access. I checked it on and it promised acces to all the loungekey lounges (there is an app which says where they are). I went to the bidvest lounge at East London airport and they didn't accept discovery black card. Anyone with any experience ? Seems the only easy to raise the issue is to call them, which is not great either.

I know with FNB they give 10 visits with their lounge key but it's only for outside of SA

I have the discovery platinum cc and very disappointed that they not giving lounge access ,yet all other banks in Sa give On platinum cards

The black card is Visa Signature and should be accepted by any LoungeKey lounge. It’s not the issuing bank that matters, it’s the type of Visa card. Bidvest doesn’t accept LoungeKey afaik... I don’t think any South African lounges do.

Weird, it’s not on my LoungeKey app... Figured that they’re not supported. Always swipe my RMB card for lounge access so save LoungeKey for international trips.

Could I also pay my folks DStv account,they normally have a debit order, could I pay via the easy pay app using the masterpass and then small amounts to break it up? If I do pay it, would then the debit order not go off or do I have to phone them to remove the debit order? I'm trying to avoid calling them

Yes, you have to call them to cancel the debit ordef

You would need phone them to remove the debit order, I would not trust the dstv system.
