Discovery Bank

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive vitality money points for making a deposit of 45k into savings as required on gold suite ?

I will try and move it to the default vitality savings account. Can’t see why it matters though, the page just says savings. My points reflected instantly for the deposit I made into tax free savings account
 
Anyone here moved from FNB to Discovery Bank? How do you compare monetary rewards?

Thinking about moving. A little gatvol of FNB.

Its kak unless eat 100% veggies and chicken which then basically can get food for free. I use both, as I intend to get wife a free iPhone when new one comes.

I’m on both, but for me Discovery is a lot better than FNB, regarding benefits, because of our lifestyle, we only shop at our main partners Woolworths and Dis-Chem), gym is free and you get a lot back on healthy gear (clothing, shoes, devices) depending on your vitality status.

Personally I’ve been contemplating to downgrade my FNB account to the gold fusion as I hardly ever use it, and get next to nothing ebucks per month.

I eat a lot of veggies haha. Some would say I only eat veggies.

I'll definitely look into it further. I remember I used to get a lot back when I had the Discovery Credit Card way back before the bank.

Put an excel spreadsheet together with both the benefits and costs of both banks and your expenditure. Because we buy 80%+ healthy food, and always preferred Woolworths, we buy everything except meat and cleaning material there, and as tour preferred partner we are on the highest cashback % as per the bank card color.
We don’t really buy at checkers anymore due to service here, and we don’t put in fuel by Engen. So we get zero benefits at FNB compared to free gym, 60% off on healthy food, gear etc at Discovery.
The only problem with Discovery is transparency, most information isn’t easy to find or to make sense of.
 
Does anyone know if you have to submit proof of income if you want to move to a platinum or black card on Discovery ? I’m self employed and technically my physical salary is under the threshold.

Nope I got platinum card because I qualify only for that. Then in the app I upgraded yo black by just filling in a huge amount as salary, never asked for proof

I had to submit proof of salary, but not when I opened the account. They changed my money status to blue after 3 months (from opening the account) because of outstanding documents, turned out to be proof of salary.

It would make sense, but the answer of @Koosvanwyk below makes me reluctant to move mine to platinum.

Purple is the card to have. Nice benefits but invite only.

I'd love some of those freebies.

I also never had to prove that I earn 1 million a month (I don’t) when going from Platinum to Black.

It's a pity they don't clarify these things. I'd prefer to upgrade to platinum, but not if they move my money status to blue if I don't submit proof of income like Koos said
