When I battle to make my weekly goal I load money onto a WW gift card in R50 increments. Bit of a schlep but it does the trick. I also pay subscriptions like Vodacom by card rather than debit order. What really helps is the fact that anything in excess of your goal carries over to the next week, making it easier to achieve.
How do you pay vodacom with a card?

Oh is it an EasyPay number?
No, it is not easypay. Not sure how they do it. It shows up as Checkers [Store name here] on the statement. If you look on your Vodacom invoice/statement it lists checkers and shoprite as one of they ways to pay.

I didn't know that about vodacom, I currently have a debit order running for my contact,so do I go and stop the debit order and then pay manually with my cc at checkers? And that won't bring up and interest or charges on my cc right?

I’ve been doing it for a while. Just pay it at least a week before the debit order is scheduled to go off. Vodacom won’t debit you if you’ve paid already. I used to do the same with Virgin Active, but it sounds like the debit order is compulsory now in order to get the boost.

Thanks I also have one with MTN. So I called them and asked if I pay manually ,will the debit order still go off ,they said yes! She says I have to cancel the debit orders to avoid it going off twice

Don’t know about MTN but Vodacom definitely doesn’t go off twice. I’ve left my debit order as a ‘safety net’ in case I forget to go pay. Never had issues.

This ia correct, if you pay the invoice/account, Vodacom will not run the debit order. Pay it at least a week before the debit order date.

Well, don't think this is correct. The debit order amount is based on the outstanding value of the account determined at a predefined date ( normally a few working days before the debit order run). If you have settled the account the debit order value will be zero. What the MTN person is implying is that they base the debit order on the value of the invoice as opposed to the outstanding balance of the account which makes no sense.

Guys I confused. I loaded my wallet on Snapscan with R20 and bought airtime for R20, however the points haven’t been allocated yet? Does that mean online purchases don’t count for money goals or am in too much of a hurry to see the changes?
