Discovery Bank

Hey guys, what is discovery banks instant pay limit per transaction and per day? Also possible to open transactional account without CC. Can this be done on the app etc?
Yes you can just open a transactional account without a credit card. I have the black transactional account so I get unlimited instant pays. You should be able to open a transactional account but it'll be linked to your CC if you make it a Suite account

There is a fair usage policy but there aren't any hard figures to go by. You'd probably have to call Discovery to find out what those are.

Ah ok great happy to pay for all no issue the caps mean more to me, but sounds like there are none

Applied via app, anyone knows how long the accounts take to open? Just transactional

Not sure how monthly interest charges are worked out as I normally pay my full amount
But does this sound right:

My closing balance was R15134.00 on 7 march
I paid R15000 on the 23 march (before the due date.

I was charged debit interest of R228.47 on 7 April

So i short paid by R134.00 how can I be charged R228.47 of interest?

Correct it has full amount otherwise you get charged interest in full outstanding amount. This is how it works on all credit cards. Even if you pay R1 less than due amount, you pay for interest on everything.

Credit card interest is charged on total amount used , not amount oustanding .
So interest not calculated on R134 left but on total used , since you didn't square up the account

Hi all I have two questions:

1. Does the CC and the normal card both earn "miles" or only the CC?
2. Is there a base rate for earning on the black card? For example with jumping through no hopes 1 mile per R15 something like this?

Where can I find this info in more detail?
