Discovery Bank

Has anyone ever got prime rate for borrowing on Discovery bank? I am thinking of getting their credit card for apple watch but that rate is nowhere near prime that i have with Investec. I wonder if its worth it.
Not sure what rates that purple card offers, through it has hefty monthly fee.

Purple will be overkill. I currently use the platinum transactional account for active rewards and petrol at BP(Discovery Miles and Smart shopper).

If you have a black credit suite you get a good rate on diamond though.

Ya the rate wouldn’t change much. In fact it will be harder to get a better rate diamond is dependent on the amount of savings you have. I think purple is about 250k.

Damn maybe I should upgrade to suite also for extra miles on Daimond

It depends. I have locked up 100k in savings with them. I haven’t maxed out tyme yet so you will need to decide which is more beneficial. For me the extra cash backs due to diamond is higher than 5k extra interest per annum from tyme.

Is it 45k for diamond that's what is needed on black card.

I see that the healthy food and healthy gear cash back came though as Discovery miles this month as opposed to deposit in savings account. You can now see the split between vitality money and vitality health "cash back" as well.
Not to sure what the premium refund is about

How come you earning more than allot of miles from pick n pay. What’s your cashback rate at pick n pay. I wonder if they still have that earn limit of 2k for individual and 4K for family.

I’m still getting cash but my payout was a week before yours though.

I have no idea how they get to those values. During the last cycle I spent more than R2000 at PNP on Healthy Food. I think my cash back was 75% during this period, so I should be getting R1500 back or 15000 miles, but I got 12379 miles.

The vitaly part is only 2379 miles, at 25% that means I only spent R1000 odd.
The bank part is correct, i.e. R2000 max x 50% = R1000 or 10000 miles

For those who've experienced both products, what's better overrall: Discovery Black Transaction Account or Investec Bank Account? Mostly similar prices!

The discovery benefit is better. But Investec has great service and good loan facilities.

Can Anyone with the iPhone benefit tell me how much they get back a month ?

Ya I did but discovery just being sneaky and say they just dropping the interest rate they charge. They should also man up and say all interest rate are decreasing.
In their defense the first 25 basis point reduction of the year they did not reduce the savings rate
