Discovery Vitality [2017]

Anyone noticed that the Samsung S-Health app has disappeared from within the Discovery app and the Discovery website (in the Linked Fitness devices & apps section). I updated the S-Health app last week (the name was changed to Samsung Health) and that seems to have screwed with Discovery so no workouts will sync anymore. Can't relink it either, because it's already linked according to Discovery, but can't unlink it because its not listed.

Mine's linked. Lately, whenever the shealth app is updated, it seems like it de-links from Vitality, but I'm always able to just re-link it in the app. Try and go to settings>applications>shealth, and then clear the app cache, then log in again to the app

Hi. Just checked. My still shows as s health in Disco app and has synced yesterday. Samsung health update done last week.

Thanks for the advice, but after clearing the cache for both the S Health & Discovery apps it still gives me the same error. It says my device is already linked to Vitality by another user when I try and relink it. **** now I have to try and sort this out with their technical support...

I have had the same problem a couple times. Backup SHealth from the app, then clear data and uninstall.
Do the same with Discovery app.
Reinstall SHealth and restore backup.
Reinstall Discovery app and relink SHealth.

Thanks CodeMaster, had to remove both apps, reinstall and restore data to get it working again. No love from Discovery after 4 days...

Non Smoker Declaration

All, i just received the below:

Thank you for your email to Vitality.
In order for your completed non-smoker declaration to be taken into account when completing the Vitality Health Check (VHC), you need to achieve five of the outcomes during the assessment.
You and Mandy achieved four of the outcomes during the assessment, because of this we cannot take into account the completed non-smoker declaration.
There is no Discovery Store closets to you in Bedfordview; however you may visit the nearest pharmacy that is within the Vitality Wellness Network in order to complete the non-smoker declaration as well as reassess whichever outcome from the VHC that was outside of the acceptable range. If this outcome is reassessed and is within the acceptable range, you may send us proof of the assessment from the pharmacy along with the declaration and we will reassess your points. Mandy also needs to follow the same procedure.

Do we have to achieve top marks for the 5 categories before we can claim points from Non-Smoker Declaration? That does not sound right, is it?

I did my wellness test and i believe the pharmacist does not know that i need to fill in a Non-Smoker Form, so we omitted it. Now i just wanted to get this done, and Vitality got back to me like this...:confused::confused::confused::confused:

I can't see how scoring top marks for your BMI, glucose levels and the other factors should affect your non-smoker declaration. You did the assessment, so you should get the points - or at least a portion of the total if you didn't get full marks. Maybe forward them your email results you got after the assessment as proof???

That's why i am confused, my Cholesterol is 5.1, so didnt get under 5. Hence, i did get top marks. My point is do you have to get full marks for all 5 tests, before they can grant you the Non-Smoker status?

That is a load of BS to me. I think i just got replied by the incompetent Vitality consultant...

No you don't need to score top marks. You just have to sign the form when you are doing the other 5 tests, whether you pass them all or not. For example discovery gave me 4/5 points, for missing blood pressure, being on 140/78. I told them their own rules state up to 140, so they gave in, and gave me 5/5 points.

Hmmm....so i just need to sign the form at a Pharmacy or a Discovery Wellness Centre. So the statement is totally wrong then.
How can their own consultant do not know their own work...strange world

I thought about this again. If you go to a Pharmacy or Discovery Wellness Centre now, and only sign the the form that you are a non-smoker, it is as good as getting 1 out of 5 of the tests. So in that situation, it makes sense why the discovery agent told you, you must go do all the tests again AND sign the non-smokers forms, to score as many points as possible, to move from 3/5 to 4/5 or even 5/5.

So really, they screwed over people this year by moving the non-smokers 5000 points to be part of this new wellness day points. Me and the wife asked the nurses to triple check they have our non-smokers forms when we were there.

ps. with it being flu shot season right now, easy 1000 points to grab. Went last week thursday, was less than 5min in and out at M-Kem, as long as you put it through medical aid, otherwise if you pay cash you need to send proof to Discovery to get the points.

Okay, i see, thanks guys. I guess i will have to do the wellness day all over again in 6 months time.
Discovery covers 4 times a year, right? That was couple of years back.

Sigh...Discovery is trying so hard to screw their customer over. I just want to maintain the diamond status...

Did anyone else have this problem before? I completed a workout with the Apple Watch last night(11th April, well before midnight), but the workout appears on the Discovery point events as if it was completed today(recorded on the 12th April), and it says 'Insufficient activity to earn points".

This is a listed known bug, it happens if you completed your workout between 10pm and 12am. I had to drop them an email for them to resolve a few times.

No, why, just to get an extra 5000 pts and that's assuming you pass the cholesterol test?
IMO, rather get your cardio fitness up and then do the fitness test at the bio.

I did see it on the website, but the description of it implied that the points would still be awarded the next day, while I didn't receive any points. Thanks, it's not a huge problem anyway but also emailed them to make sure. :)

StrontiumDog, i did the bio already, so i got full 7500 points out of it. I will see how it goes later in the year, as i am at Diamond status more than 5 years and i do fly a lot. I really want to stay on the diamond to get my 35% off air tickets. discovery vitality is really going down hill.
