From 2019 it will be R259 for a single member.
In terms of it being worthwhile - I did a calculation in 2017, and my monthly subscriptions totalled R2628, and my savings came to R6153. That included almost R2600 off a Cape Town flight ticket thanks to the initial 35% discount plus the additional travel booster (now discontinued, I believe), R820 off a car rental, and R650 from the shoe booster (I have deducted the R350 activation fee for that benefit). The rest was healthy food, healthy care and healthy gear. I didn't include any gym benefit in those calculations, since it's too hard to work out (I'm on the pre-2010 benefit, so I pay only for R250-odd pm for Premier membership). I also didn't include the cash value of the Discovery Miles I get from the 10x miles booster at various retailers, nor the cash value of whatever discount I get on my Discovery Life policy due to my Vitality status, nor the cash value of Vitality active rewards (which had no real cash value in 2017, but do have cash value if they continue with the current system - that's a guaranteed R25 per week for making your goal).
I'm a single person who spends at least 6 months out of the country each year, so my savings from the healthy stuff are way less than what a "normal" person would get.
It all depends how willing you are to buy into the system.
