You can go 6m apart and you can potentially earn more points if you improve from a previous test, but that don't pay for the 2nd one.How does it change your points if you go for another health check?
And I assume you don't get the bonus for meeting 5 goals if you do?You can go 6m apart and you can potentially earn more points if you improve from a previous test, but that don't pay for the 2nd one.
No, you do. In my case, if my blood pressure improves, and everything else stays in line, I’ll get full points. I got told 90 days though, but it could be 6 months. I did it at Discovery Place and the guy seemed knowledgeable. And I assume you don't get the bonus for meeting 5 goals if you do?
Maybe it changed, I was told last year it was a min of 5 months, you can only get points twice a year and they only pay for the first one.No, you do. I quickly checked the points guide and found this. So it is 90 days this year... And yes, you pay for the second health check. Can’t remember the cost though but under R500 if I remember.Maybe it changed, I was told last year it was a min of 5 months, you can only get points twice a year and they only pay for the first one.

Ok that's great to know. But you have to have all the tests again? Not just the one thats out of line? No, you do. I’m not sure, I’ve never actually gone twice. Always got full marks so this is scary lol. I guess you can skip the HIV test but you’ll pay for everything.Ok that's great to know. But you have to have all the tests again? Not just the one thats out of line?
I lost out last year because of BP. I am now on meds after showing the doc.I do mine end of the year and my BP was within 1 point of the maximum. Definitely does open your eyes to risk factors especially if you don't go for annual checkups
Please keep us updated. Don't worry, BP is easily treatable but is chronic as mentioned in the post below yours. It picked up my mom's high-ish BP, doc put her on meds (and it's a pmb) and her BP is scary low. 105/62 last week of December. But yes, it can be a silent killer. Go to the doc. How high was yours?I’m not sure, I’ve never actually gone twice. Always got full marks so this is scary lol. I guess you can skip the HIV test but you’ll pay for everything.
Thanks man. Yeah will see what the doc says. Been waking up with headaches so maybe it’s related. It was 143/90.Please keep us updated. It could definitely be related. And that's definitely high enough to have checked out. In fact almost identical to what my mom's started atThanks man. Yeah will see what the doc says. Been waking up with headaches so maybe it’s related. It was 143/90.
Some, most actually, of the Discovery Medical Scheme options pay for 2 checks per year per member/beneficiaryYou can go 6m apart and you can potentially earn more points if you improve from a previous test, but that don't pay for the 2nd one.
Yeah even my entry level plan pays for 2.Some, most actually, of the Discovery Medical Scheme options pay for 2 checks per year per member/beneficiary
You can check on the Discovery App under Medical Aid and then Benefits used and scroll to Screening and Prevention Benefit - Health Check, it should say available 2 (unless you have already used 1 this year)Some, most actually, of the Discovery Medical Scheme options pay for 2 checks per year per member/beneficiary
