We might just be that anomalous outcome.

On the contrary. Were dinosaurs not wiped out, they would be the dominant life form on the planet today.
Furthermore, the evolutionary branches which spawned human beings had several competitive branches going for the top spot in the food chain. Apes & Chimpanzee's for example.
So not even intelligence as a survival mechanism is unique to humanity, we just became king of the hill first.

I'm not following your reasoning here.
You've jumped buckets.
You were originally talking about life in the universal bucket; life being an inevitable occurrence in the universe:

Absolutely. Life is inevitable rather than an anomalous outcome.
The very fact that we exist means that life is possible in the universe.
We might just be that anomalous outcome.
My response was to imply that life on earth might just be that anomalous outcome (it hasn't occurred elsewhere in the universe).

I'm not sure what dinosaurs & evolutionary branches have to do with the universal case (earth vs the rest of the universe) of life and whether it's inevitable or anomalous?

This is about as good as it gets. Wishful thinking and a bit of a popularity contest. People who believe in aliens really don't understand stats.

stats are changing daily - leaning more & more towards the inevitable conclusion that life existed & exists elsewhere in the universe.

more and more scientists believe life exists now than ever before.

you need to pull your head out the sand and go read more than just the bible.

Said Mountain, "Just imagine the moment, when we find potential signatures of life. Imagine the moment when the world wakes up and the human race realizes that its long loneliness in time and space may be over -- the possibility we're no longer alone in the universe."

Fair enough, sorry thought I made my reasoning clear.
I am pointing out that there have been so many occurrences of life on this planet and many potential intelligent occurrences of said life, that it points to life being rather hard to avoid when the conditions are right.

Given billions of galaxies and the amount of planets in each, it is speculative, but also hard to imagine life being avoided altogether.

We can do both ;-)

Just imagine all governments divert all their military budgets to science so we can eradicate cancer, develop alternative power sources to provide free energy to the world and finally once and for all figure out which way the toilet roll is suppose to hang!

Often most periods of highest technical advancement came about due to wars though... :)

ROFL! Stats are one of the best sources for predicting alien life...

The 'Bible' is a historical document(s). Whether you want to believe the claims recorded is your choice.

It's not. It'a collection of parables and remembrances of events after the fact. Also a highly edited fantasy novel.

The bible wasn't written in real-time; there wasn't a scribe following each character around documenting their life and their actions. An oral tradition carried the majority of the bible into the future where it was eventually put down as writing. Or not?

It's brilliant. Not edited. Do some research on it and how it is translated. One of the most accurate historical documents.

"Accurate historical document"

Anyway, this thread has gone for a ball of shlt now....

Yep, it even agrees that there are aliens, here is the first alien abduction: 2 Kings 2v11:
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Lol you're criticising the believes of some people by replacing it with the believes of others.
The facts is aliens don't exist and science and statistics and probability support that.

Ok, so how about showing us the stats and probabilities that support the non-existence of aliens rather than just invoking it the whole time as if we're all familiar with what you're talking about.
