Do you hate phone notches?

Do you prefer 19:9 with notch or 16:9 without a notch

I see loads of people complaining about the new notch OEM's use to reduce bezels and I wonder if the hate is purely because Apple (OK Essential phone had it 1st) did it?

What I don't get is that we actively get more screen space as the notification Icons get moved to previously dead space, yet people complain about it? See for example my current phone Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite:

You need to differentiate the notches, e.g. that vs the iPhone X notch.

My Huawei p20 has one.. I really don't mind it. Alot of people think that it's in the way.. But personally i like it, I came from a phone with a proper rectangular screen to the notch and a bit of circled edges if that's the right word... Iike it.. Donno why people hate it

I only noticed the notch for the first few days (P20) and have got used to it now.

It’s actually handy that it takes the status bar icons off the usable screen.

Or you could just go 18:9 with very thin top and bottom bezels. I hate notches.

Without the android navigation icons you have even more screen real estate than a notched phone. Navigation is via onscreen gestures.

I don't love them, but I don't hate them either. The status icons go up there out of the way, which is neat, but I'd rather the notch be filled and have even more screen space.

And some of us prefer Notched phones over notch-less tablets ;)

The Mi A2 has exact same screen size as A2 lite yet makes for a bigger phone:

Moved from OP3T to OP6.
Notch tends to block out most of the notification icons. I don't like that it does that.

Oppo R17/OnePlus 6T is the way to go imo:

If you going to put a notch and still have the same screen to body ratio(ie including a chin as well) then there's no point and it's useless.

I wouldn't mind the tear drop notches but the iPhone X notch is pure filth.
