i7, it's nearly 3 years old and it's fine. Other desktops are also i5/i7 from 2-3 years ago, before Ryzen.
It will be quite a while before I buy a new one, either something has to die or performance has to bottleneck, I don't see either happening soon.
If it did, I'd probably get a 2700 to replace it.
