Wired. I'm lazy and ignore low-battery warnings, so at some point wireless ones go flat and I curse the damned thing.
 
Trackpad. Even Windows laptops have finally started to have something resembling a decent trackpad. Although for some bizarre reason manufacturers think making the surface textured is a good idea. Trackpads should be large and absolutely smooth.

My dad does too. I can't watch him work on his laptop. Does my head in. He also never takes advantage of the autofill when available. He types everything out. Incredibly frustrating to watch when he is typing in a long url.
 
My favoured mouse was the Microsoft Wheel Mouse. Not sure if that was the official name, but it was symmetrical, allowing it to be used with either hand, and large enough to rest my hand on. I don't think there was a wireless version.

My main complaint about wireless mice is that they're heavier. Having charged batteries on hand isn't a problem.
 
Wireless MX Master for work. It is the best mouse for work by far. It also charges via USB, so no real issue when I get the low battery warning.
Wired G502 for gaming.
 
Wired, Old fong kong 7 button cheapy I got more than a decade ago
Plus android with PC remote for when I don't want to go to the desktop to control it.
 
Logitech G703 wireless for gaming, and some random cheap Logitech wirelss for work.

Current gen wireless gaming mice are on par with their wired counterparts when it comes to performance. I took a gamble on the G403 wireless years ago, and will probably never buy another wired mouse ever again.
 
Work = wireless
Home = wired ... but I am starting to regret my last purchase. The scroll wheel is rough and counterproductive.

Try a rechargeable ..............Honestly, after buying shares in the Energizer company ...... I moved over to rechargeable mice and havent looked back.

Got a travel cheapie last month.

Look at a mouse that supports Qi charging or Logitech powerplay and use a charging pad.

Most of these mice have been out for a good 4/5 years, don't think people really complain about the battery life since they start at 60 hours.

That's a general LiPo battery, I'd be guessing you're looking at a really, really long time until it becomes unusable, I don't think you'd easily hit the 2000 cycles (that's probably more than 10 years? At least 5) before the rest of the mouse stops working, it will probably be way above rated clicks.
Event at 35% charge, for a lot of those mice that's around 20 hours battery life.
