Good day
I'm really disappointed with telkom, my mother is the account holder and she followed all protocol that telkom advised her to do, up and till today no manager has phoned her they are sitting with R3000 of ther money, every time we get hold of a agent they either rude, right now they caused us alot of pain and suffering and more over I'm disappointed how they treat there clients they don't care about this pandemic at all, they not even looking for ways to assist they good paying customers who wnt be receiving a income, telkom has lost my respect

Nothing we can do here all I can tell you is she will likely not pay this month. Not great and it is a cashflow issue but you should be fine

Roughly the same thing happened to me:

after making a manual payment on the 8 April upon emailed instructions by Telkom after my debit order failed, Telkom again debited from my account on 15 April. When querying, I'm told that there was no payment to my account on 8 April. After sending payment proofs and bank statements, I get silence from Telkom, with them continuing to bill my account as normal - even adding a little extra to the bill for good measure.

As seen in the screenshot, Telkom only goes so far until they go silent...

Wow, what a sentence.

I hate to be the one giving you the bad news or perhaps you can somehow calculate the vast infinite possibilities of quantum mechanics but I had the same issue with Telkom a few years back and eventually the only answer I got was that they do not reimburse even if they made the error and that they will only credit the excess payment.

It is plain and simple robbery so either you accept it or you will have to go through hell and back in hopes to lodge it as fraud with your bank but since Telkom is such a big company I find it hard to believe the bank will even care about your issue.

Government screwing you OP just as they have the rest of us. You have only realised that now.

Debit orders in general should be avoided. Incredible the unfeted access people give companies to their bank accounts. The worst part is chasing a company for your money after their billing f*#kup. I learnt this the hard way and swore never again.

And now after taking double the money, they further decide to threaten:
