Dual inputs for speakers

I'd like to play both sources at the same time, so I can have music while playing Crysis or something, cus I definitely can't run iTunes or whatever while Crysis is in control... But the main reason is so that I can play music from the iPod without having to unplug the cable from PC -> bit of a mission in my case.

When properly designed equipment is turned off, it goes into a high-Z (high impedance) state. What you are worried about (if I understand correctly) is that current may decide to travel up to the iPod instead of it going to your speakers. This will happen, but only very little (due to leakage currents), unless your PC is putting out more than the rated breakdown threshold of the iPod. I wouldn't worry.

I thought the ipod is protected from that nowadays,I am sure something that cost R2000 rand should have protection,Look at all the accesories for ipods these days.Lots of plugin stuff.
Just my 5bob

Yes, it SHOULD be... but I can't be sure, thus I'm not going to go out on a limb and risk frying carderne's Pod. At the end of the day, just because something's expensive doesn't NECESSARILY mean that it's designed or manufactured any better.

OK, just realised that post may have come out like a flame. Sorry about that. But you're absolutely right bout all the iPod accessories. SHOULD be pretty robust
