3G and beyond is the only way rtv, everything else you know of today is old and will soon die.
Everyone is only in their infant stages atm, there are big things ahead but it all takes time.
Licenses dont distinguish anymore as everything falls under the same roof as all it needs is lotsa bucks [:)]

I am convinced that my speed is far below what it should be by comparing my test results with some of the above results. I’ve just signed up for the 128 MW and currently I am not too impressed.

Results are as follows e.g.
Local
• Estimated line speed: 83.1 (kilobits/second)
• Estimated line speed: 10.2 (kiloBytes/second)
International
• Estimated line speed: 10.88 (kilobits/second)
• Estimated line speed: 1.36 (kiloBytes/second)

Area = Bluff, Durban & signal strength = 13%

I would appreciate any advice in how to rectify this, please?
 
I see they're erecting a new concrete tv transmission tower next to the ageing steel one in Overport, does anybody know if they'll be fitting a Sentech transmitter to this as I have line of sight with the tower.
 
To my knowledge Sentech discourages the use of existing TV transmission towers for MW.
Besides there already is a tower on Ridge Road (Inverness).
 
So then I should recieve quite good signal from my place in Riley rd? (Inbetween Ridge & Essenwood near Overport City
 
For those that are interested on the building opposite inverness, i think it is called glen ridge, is an iburst tower. It is a round thingy with about 12 antannae sticking up from it.

About two weeks ago it used to average at 110-120 :(
 
ProAsm, I'm not sure what you are doing fidling in my tower..... But whatever it is, its working!!!!!!!! Speed is way up!!!!! Thanks!

We've had all sorts of erratic behaviour of late so I just rebooted the whole of Durban, reckon it blows out the cobwebs :)

Anyone in Durban know where I can obtain a copy of SuSE Linux 9.2 Professional ? (5 CD's / 1 DVD).

We gonna download the whole thing this weekend on VSat from ftp://ftp.is.co.za and put it on DVD so check back next week :)
 
Hope someone here can help me, i play warcraft online most of the time and lately( Last 2 weeks i think) my ping just becomes way to erractic to play so i lag alot....I've had sentech since Jan with no probs playing warcraft.
Anyone have any idea what I can do?

Package = 128
Signal = 37%
Tower = Inverness
 
odin, there appears to be a current problem with packet loss in the Durban Area.
I'm experiencing it on the Bay of Plenty tower, but it has been reported in
Durban North too.
I suggest that you report this too!

ok sentech seem to be very gay and upping my pings at night, around 10pm.
