authentication problems

Strange... over the last couple days I haven't been able to connect, get a chap authentication error. I'm going to fone sentech now but just wondering if anyone else in dbn north is having this problem?

Think I'm using the dbn north tower, I'm by La Lucia area. Just got off the phone to sentech support now, they tested the account on thier side and had no problems. Got a ref number... next step is to call nowire and ask them to test it...

Ok, I call the number I was told to call, it was the same number I just called. Basically Sentech told me to call back ha ha. Got the right number, called nowire...they said if I didn't take the account out with them it's not their problem(understandable) and I must call sentech back...great! Ha Ha now I understand what half the country complains about...

qwest who on earth are you phoning, what number and about what ?
There are no problems with any towers except Sunningdale NodeB1 (Gateway) which was off the whole of Thursday, otherwise everything else is working fine.

Good news for Durban:
I see that Sentech has upgraded the capacity on their DBN-JHB link by 30% - This being the second increase in as many months :)
Also...... I believe that there is an application in the pipeline for an additional 25% increase within the next 2 months or so!

I am so caught up on my 48MBit Sat. connection, I had almost forgotten about sentech. How are things in Durban going?

*EDIT* Baltic sea.

Back in town

Greetings all. I am finally back in town for 2 months. Just a quick one.. I cant seem to remember what my MTU setting on my router is supposed to be. And I am having some pages time out, and I think this might be why...

Do any of you stay in the vacinity of Nelson/Riley/Juniper rd? I'm thinking of getting Sentech but I'm worried about the coverage in that area. The Overport region has been "Coming soon" for over a year now, they should really update the website.

This was up and running long ago.
There is a tower on top of the Inveness building near the Entabeni Hospital.

Thats on South Ridge road? I can see that building from the roof parking of Overport City but my place falls just behind that area.

Can anyone tell me if I can get a signal in Montclair.

Yes you can but you may need an antenna.
Montclair is on the border and you need almost line of site to the Bluff Water Tower which is on the corner of Bluff and Beacon roads.

Hey Mouse, I stay in Woodlands and I managed to get 2-3 bars with just a pringles can... but I had my year and a half of sentech, its adsl time!
