Hi Proasm, long time no hear :) Question, is there a new tower in Morningside ? My signal reception has dropped and I am getting very slow speeds, I tried to test the 256k connection this weekend, but was vey dissapointed, couldnt get about 15k ?? Even my 128 seems to have slowed down a bit ??? Any ideas ?
 
Hey Izan if you're getting ADSL, how much do you want for that modem.

Do you think MyWireless would work @ Atherstone place?
There's a 3G signal here, but not over my house :(

definitely good signal near juniper Road. Have a friend just down the road who getsx great signal! Strange, as mentioned before, I am in Sherwood and thus closer to the Overport Tower, but I get my signal from the Bluff Tower:confused:

Hey Mouse, I had to hand in my modem back so I dont have it :/

Also, quite freakily.. I live in Atherstone O_o and got signal. You kinda have to have line of sight to bluff and use some kind of antennea eg a pringles can silaconed to a 750g coffee tin :D
 
The Sunningdale tower was taken out early this evening by lightning.
The damage done was severe and due circumstances repairs might take a while.
Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon/evening we will have it up again.

Inverness Bulwer tower

Hey

Is anyone here connecting to the Bulwer Inverness tower? I will be connecting to this tower (thats if it's still a sentech tower) - can anyone tell me if it is still an operational sentech tower?

I would like to get into contact with someone using this tower so that we can compare speed, or check if we both loose signal to determine whether it's the tower thats gone down or something wrong on our sides.

i've recently moved home to Pinetown, no coverage here called sentech...they cant tell me when/if ever there will be coverage here. can someone give me some good news:)

For me personally this is the first time in a long time that I have had downtime! Was offline for about two hours. My email and local sites like this are working right now, but I cannot get into international sites not even google!:(
 
hOWZIT iv heard alot about Sentech Mywireless and i just saw that i have a tower near my area reading the list on the first page...my question is (i dnt know about Sentech lol) wat type of medium is used for Sentech Mywireless? WiMAX? Wi-Fi?
 
Sentech uses a wireless technology called TD-CDMA manufactured by IPWireless, which is similar to 3G.

But how come mywireless hasnt kicked it off that good as yet? 3G speeds looking at 100kbps..lol ok understand why:D

Sjoe don't often come onto my adsl too much anymore, but was just going through old threads, looked at thedate of this one and saw that it was just four days before my world came crashing down on me!! ( Mydarling mother died of aheart attack on 10 October2006 :(
 
wow i didnt know that people were still even using sentech given thier track record :S
 
Guys.

Please give us some slack. Yes you guessed it. I work for Sentech. Thus my views expressed here is my own. NOT SENTECH's

Guys I work in the call centre and I would like to point out a few things,

next time you call in with a problem, fuming that sentech is down once again, and you are SO ready to give sentech a piece of your mind, consider this:

the person on the other side of the phone is really trying to help you. I know this because I am one of those people. I have seen my team, swear, scream and cry on your account, trying to help you to the best of our ability. Remember we are not the technitians that actually fix the problem, but with the abilities and permissions we have, we try to do the best we can. Just remember that next time you come down on a person on the other side of the line.
