DVI - VGA Converter

Sounds like you went to Anstek....

Why not invest in a graphics card, even if it is a second hand el cheapo, to improve your viewing performance? It will also imprive your PC's performance as it frees up M/B resources...

Will need to log off soon, but thx 2 you both for the replies -
He did mention upgrading the graphics card as a last resort, if those things mentioned previously didn't fully work out, and gave me 2 options on ones they sell - essentially, on a 5 year old machine he said I'd need one which costs about R600 (the other's about R450)

I may hunt around for a 2nd hand one, but am not that keen to upgrade ''bits & pieces'', as it's already 1/2 a decade old. Recently I've seen Acer's with fairly good specs. @ about R4k on special - good enough for my needs, as I don't ever play games on computers.
So, if this one packs up (I've a laptop in reserve), I'd probably go for something like that.

If I had a new screen being used on this old machine (even if not optimally, but good enough to get by), then would at that stage simply 'trash' this old PC, and new PC box will be compatible with newish monitor.
Thx & rgds.

It wasn't Anstek .... was Computer Bits & Pieces in Walmer
G'night.
