Anybody got any idea how to get E220 to work in Windows 7 64 bit. I have searched and googled for drivers for windows 7 but only find the XP and vista drivers.

ANY method to get it working will be considered as this is driving me nuts not being able to get E220 connected.

Any other USB device that work in Windows 7 (64bit)? I am now also considering to buy some other usb device to get my Windows 7 (64bit) working with my MTN sim.

Thanks
JB

My E220 works fine with W7. As does my K3565 and E270.

Load the latest drivers / firmware.

Thank u guys. I downlaoded the stuff from huawei and I could not get the E220 to upgrade in windows 7. I then upgraded the E220 in XP. Put in the E220 in Windows 7. Picked it up straight away and I am back in business..!!

For some reason I just could not get the update to work in windows 7. Luckily I had an XP system on hand. So if yu struggle to update it in windows. Do the update on XP and then the new updated version will be picked up immediately in windows 7. I also like the frontend of the huawei way more then the MTN one.

Thanks guys

i posted a new thread do a search for e220

MTN USB dongle and windows 7

Can anyone tell me which of the MTN USB dongles work with windows 7 (64bit). Currently I have the E220 and it need about a heart bypass surgery to get it working with windows 7 (64bit). the E220 was is way pass it's prime and was good for XP windows 2000 but I think it is time to move on and bury the elderly.

What is the latest tegnology USB dongles that I can consider to upgrade to that do not have issues with windows 7 (64bit).

Appreciate any feedback and pointers

Go to www.huawei.com and get the "Mobile Connect" software for the E220 usb modem. You might need to flash your E220 modem with it. I did it just after Win7 came out and its working 100%

Yes I know, and have done so already.

I need to know what is the newest and better models for an MTN upgrade (that I need to make) that do not need a firmware update to work with windows 7 64bit, but work std with current software

HUAWEI E220 WINDOWS 7 DRIVERS

Hi all

Could anyone please advise me what to do about the Windows 7 Drivers for the E220 Modem. I have found a few drivers that claim to work on Windows 7, but with no luck have they actually worked.

I phoned MTN customer care, and its been a day now with no e-mail link for the so called drivers.

Thanks,

Raymond

Would it be so difficult for them to just place a link on their web site? Why do you have to call customer care at all. You would think they were sharing some top secret info having to email you a link.

Customer Care my ass.

The update has never worked with Win 7. Judging by how long Win 7 has been around, they aren't planning to do anything about it either. It is like they don't give a sh.t about the data side of their business.

You can always try to download the VODAFONE Drivers from vodacom, its the same modem after all.

Urgh. Let me install XP virtually. Get this thing sorted. Been struggling as well.

you need an XP machine to flash with the latest firmware(best way).
(remember to remove the sim before flashing)
then you need the latest software
I did it for a client only a few months ago...

The E220 upgrades perfectly well under Windows 7. I've not had a single failure on 30 or 40 pieces!!

The secret is to install a PC copy of Mobile Partner first so the Windows 7 drivers are available!

You can get all that you need here: http://www.dc-files.com/

Use the drop down menu and click the 'chip' to select...

If you download Dashboard it will be a PC installed copy and Dashboard Upgrade will update the device itself.

Hi. I've tried with an XP machine. Now I got the modem plus drivers to install alright. I'm currently using firmware version 11.313.02.00.01 when I try connect I get a bluescreen. I've tried various firmwares, windows updates, different dashboards including MDMA. Still no luck. I get irq not less or equal, tried googling for solutions but none work or are applicable for me. Any aid?
