So I wanted to encrypt my system drive on my laptop and TrueCrypt and VeraCrypt can't encrypt it because it has a GUID Partition Table which they don't support. Bitlocker not included on Windows 7 Pro.

Is there any other software or do I have to go onto Windows 8.1 Pro and use bitlocker?

I guess I can see if I can repartition it into MBR...

I have never had any issues encrypting my pc with TrueCrypt using windows 7 or 10. The issue I have had is when your mobo is using an UEFI BIOS, as TrueCrypt has issues with that. So then you just put your BIOS into classic mode, or install windows via a flash drive and not a DVD. Those are the 2 solutions that worked for me. Do not know if that might work for you.

Thanks, went Windows 8.1 Pro (since I can have it for free) and bitlocker in the end. Also useful that I can now encrypt my 2 mobile drives easily and easily read them in any Win7 or newer PC.

You can convert the Hard Drive to from GPT to MBR using AOMEI Partition Assistant and vice versa with NO DATA LOSS.
I did it a few days ago and it takes a few minutes. Then installed Win 7, Windows 8.1 still works perfectly. To dual boot, use EasyBCD if needed.
