England tour to SA: 2015

A quick 100 runs after Tea and we declare. Unless the Abbot issue is still there, otherwise bat most of the session

If they do declare at Tea, the rate at which they scored and/or intensity will be questioned. Regardless, I reckon they have enough to lure the Poms into a chase.

Edit: my weather map suggests there may be rain in the area in 45 to 60 minutes

Not even, otherwise England will play for the draw. A quick 50 in 30 minutes gives us a lead of ~410, with ~115 overs to bowl at them.

The scoring rate in the past hour has been very poor considering we have wickets in hand...

Its Tea now. lead of 356.
Rain clouds looking Ominous here in Rivonia definitely moving North.
I think a max of two more hours of play left in the day. rain will interrupt and the clouds may even close the day off early.

I dont see SA coming out for too long. after Tea, maybe just give hash his Hundred.

I get the feeling Amla is playing for personal accolades over the team. Same with Bavuma.

I don't think more overs matter, IMO...we can probably muster ~40 overs of relative quality with the ball (with an overnight rest for Rabada and Morkel and Piedt filling in the gaps) and then we'll be left with 2 very tired bowlers and Piedt + part-timers. Unless Piedt does better than the first innings, I'm not optimistic about bowling them out.

See my other post...I think the management team realise they can't maintain pressure for 120 overs so no need to rush to a declaration. If we can't bowl them out in 2 sessions, I can't see it happening...unless England hand their wickets to us on a platter or Goolam gets to make a phonecall :p

Personally think they should have been going at a faster speed regardless, looks like Bavuma is doing that now though.
