Entry-level, decent component Hi-Fi system

Is it also easy to find 2 separate Jamo speakers and another sub to add to the included 5.1 system?

That sytem is shown as 5.1 but is really only a 5.0 system, there is no sub included in the package.

Geez... that does look awesome (and cheap).

What are the "pre-outs" for? The 5006 only has for the front speakers, where the 6006 has for all channels.

That set includes front left and right, centre and back left and right speakers... Bloody awesome!!! I'm so tempted but my wife is going to shoot me if I do....

EDIT: That amp retails for around R10k on it's own, the speakers for R6.3k... Damn it... Time to go shopping...

Ah

Which sub(s) would you recommend?

Jamo. I have 2 Jamo subs connected in a loop running off my Yamaha amp. They pump. Bought them years ago off BidorBuy direct from the local Jamo agents were having a clearance sale. Jamo E5SUB.5 for R1500 a piece...

Geesus bought these Jamo's Aug 2006!!! Definitely time for an upgrade...

help

Hi guys, I am also looking to get a decent home theatre system... Can anyone shed some light on the marantz jamo combo at dion wired? I know the special ends on Tuesday, does anyone know the model of receiver and speakers, and their limitations? I have listened to the set up in store and was blown away esp in comparison to the other space shuttle like systems going around R5k.. Any help would be appreciated, and plz bare with me as I am a newbie :) thanks

Nothing more to say, just get it and don't look back...

Haha thanks! So the receiver is the SR5006? I wasn't sure esp as the combo price is so good.

I have another noob q... Do I need to get a blu ray player that supports 3D in order to get the full benefits? To go with that combo what features should I look for in a blu ray player?

If you want to view 3D movies on a 3d TV then yes, get a 3d capable Blu-Ray player...

Don't think there are any special features you need to look for, just go for decentish quality.

Thanks. Does anyone know how to use AirPlay with that marantz receiver and an iPhone 4 - without having to use an airport express or apple tv?

And what would be decentish quality brands for a 3d blu ray player?

Wow that's an awesome deal. The receiver alone is worth that much.

It is an awesome deal. Don't know how dionwired are managing to do such good prices on Marantz and Jamo items but its great for us all. I just need a bit more time (to save money) and I will be shopping from them.

Hard to find a better deal, very hard.

The special ends on Tuesday...

So does no one have experience using AirPlay without the need for go betweens?

Does that mean I would have to set up a home wifi network? I don't know how to do that :(
(I have a wifi enabled laptop, iPhone 4, and soon to be AirPlay enabled receiver)

Yeah, all you need is a wireless router. TP-Link W8961N is a good value for money unit.

What are you currently doing for internet?
